Interesting. So it seems like the truth might be somewhere in the middle. I am curious as to why he provided his paycheck to one of the parties at the direction of the studio. I assume to hold off a lawsuit?

"Reacted with anger" to the point that HR, a financial settlement and studio-mandated therapy were required? That is far and above a standard argument on set. And then a second incident involving worker safety that was his fault? That's not good at all.

Some of this sounds a little like the Thomas Gibson situation on Criminal Minds that ended up getting him fired.

Wayans and Crawford are not on speaking terms.
Read the new account on the above link. It’s pretty detailed on how ugly this got.
The show sounds like it’s in serious trouble.

They threw some shade at Wayans in that article, too. So it does seem like the truth does fall somewhere in the middle.

Yes, as long as you define middle as, "Not completely at either end."
Blowing up and yelling at a co-star and telling him what you think about him "in no uncertain terms" isn't the same as not wanting to run down stairs while holding a gun when you're 57 and have already been injured.
None of us know the whole story, but I've been slightly bemused at the number of people I've seen try to cast aspersions on Wayans, who from everything I've ever seen about him is well liked in the industry, despite articles clearly stating who the issue is (many articles right in the headline).
I only watched the first season, but my wife still watches so I get glimpses here and there. After watching Crawford on Rectify, I think he's been a revelation as Riggs, doing a credible job taking over a role I could previously only see Mel Gibson playing. But if things are so bad between your stars that they don't want to talk to each other, the show's on life support. I don't see them recasting working. It's a shame if they can't sit down and work things out, but that's how it goes when egos get involved.

It's FOX's second-highest rater drama, after EMPIRE.
LETHAL WEAPON needs a hands-on showrunner to reign these stars in. This isn't the first series with co-stars with big egos (which seems to be the biggest issue here). Bring someone in, get him/her in the room with the two stars and work this out. No need to kill the golden goose.

What's funny about this is that the showrunners had to sell Crawford in this role to the network, Fox never wanted him. He was practically out of acting and the showrunners flew down to his home in Georgia(?) to talk him back into acting and into doing this role.
This was all hashed out on the first season's Blu-ray special features.

The show has gone downhill a bit. The action is more sparse and less impressive
Sick of Riggs childhood flashbacks , we get it, he had a shitty daddy
I did like the flashback to young molly and then older molly saying the same words
They need a few more hardcore storylines

We still enjoy Lethal Weapon quite a bit, and Crawford's Riggs has outshone Gibson's in our eyes. Also, the Murtaugh family dynamic is a constant source of amusement for us. I really hope they can resolve the issues with the actors.

I take back my praise of Damon...I just read a story about how he's defending Cosby and thinks the women are all lying.

Interesting blind item that says the issues with Clayne are much worse than has been reported and there are potentially numerous lawsuits in the works related to his behavior.
Of course it is most likely bull and they are just exaggerating an existing story, but still they have been right before so...

Wow, Clayne Crawford officially fired from the show.
Looks like they're trying to recast the part.

No decision on a renewal yet.

Actors contracts expire June 30th.
But, FOX's 2018-19 upfront is Monday. They want to cast a replacement by then if the show comes back.
Kind of hard to keep him when the co-lead refuses to work with him.
Recasting rarely work. Only soap operas seem to pull them off.
Clayne has a lot of female fans and the majority of the comments on this story seem to indicate that no replacement will be acceptable and those viewers will drop the show.

Wow. I just can't see how the show comes back after this. Too bad, it is a fun show.

Well, stick a fork in her because she is done. Major bummer, Fox pulls off a neat trick of successfully rebooting (reinterpreting, whatever you want to call it) a beloved action film franchise for the small screen only to have it fall to pieces after only two seasons have passed.
Everyone on this board and even on other sites I went too was pleasantly surprised that Lethal Weapon was actually good so this news really does suck.

Reps for Fox and Warner Bros. declined to comment for this story. TVLine has also reached out to Crawford’s agent but we have yet to hear back. A source close to the show, meanwhile, maintains that a final decision has not been made.

While a recasting would mean a likely replacement of Crawford, according to sources he has not been yet formally terminated from the series. Crawford has been carrying on with his duties — just hours ago he took to Instagram to promote Lethal Weapon‘s Season 2 finale, which airs tonight.

Funny how TV Line says one thing and Deadline says something different. And they're sister publications.
