Heh lots of nods to the original series in the finale. I loved the ceti eels cooking away in the pan. Great way to end the season.

Noooo! Why did they go out that way? Only have a year to wait and see if they continue with the final scene.

What a perfect cliffhanger. The whole episode was a great end to the season and to the show if there was not going to be a second season. But there is going to be a second season and to tell the truth I dreaded the obligatory cliffhanger I feared was coming. When it did come though I was pleasantly surprised by how it it was just right.
I loved it and I hope they can keep the next run as interesting as this one was.

The finale was great and that appearance at the end was cool. I liked the season overall. It was a bit uneven but so are all the other first seasons of Trek shows. Time to cancel my CBS Access until next year.

Entire Klingon Empire: I mean we're 10 minutes away from winning the war but OK no problem

I liked the season final but thought it was a little rushed. All the easter eggs were great. Loved the last scene.

Really enjoyed the show - nice to see some "grown up" Trek on the small screen and that was a great cliffhanger for next season!

Nice little cameo. I wonder if they will play any role in the 2nd season.
For the Star Trek nerds, how long was Christopher Pike the Captain of the Enterprise before Kirk took over? Wasn't Pike only seen on Star Trek: The Cage in the original TV series?
The 2nd season probably isn't airing until 2019. With all the special effects and such, I don't see it being ready for Fall.
Michael's speech at the end to the Federation was very "Star Trek-like"
I wonder for all those who were shitting on this show after only seeing the CBS airing, if they will now be enticed to watch.

He was Captain for a bit before Spock became his first officer and I think they were on the Enterprise 11 years before Kirk became Captain, He was in the Cage and the 2 part Menagerie.

Captain Robert April (2245-2250)
Captain Christopher Pike (2250s through early 2260s)
Captain James T. Kirk (2265-2270; as rear admiral in early 2270s and again in 2285)
Captain Will Decker (during refit and shakedowns in early 2270s)
Captain Spock (2285)

I’ve been watching via alternative means, but last week that option kept crapping out on me so I did the 1 week trial to get me through these last 2 episodes. I also atch Big Brother and Life in Pieces. What I discovered is that even with All Access, the primetime shows aren’t available for streaming until the next day. I had assumed it would be same day like with HBO and Starz. That killed any interest I might have had in continuing past the trial.
Anyway, as for episode, it felt like a lame unrealistic end to the Klingon war. The Enterprise tease was all I liked.

Liked the cliffhanger, but really didn't like the resolution at all. It felt cheap and extremely lazy.
Starfleet is losing the war, being decimated, and apparently on the verge of extinction. So all it takes is going to the Klingon homeworld (which apparently is super easy) and planting a bomb? Ugh.
Loved the series and all the episodes leading up to this one. But really hated this finale. What a let down.

Meh finale for me. Sure, the music and Enterprise at the end hit the strings but the story is crazy. So in this alternate but yet real timeline, Starfleet is all but gone, Earth is minutes from destruction but the Enterprise is still just hanging out, exploring? How did the survive the war we never saw?

The longer the show went on, the better it got and the more like traditional Trek it became. I'm not too thrilled about how it ending the war. It seemed rushed. Still looking forward to the next season. I wonder how many CBS All Access subscribers drop it in the next two months with this and football over.

This was such a confused season. It felt like they were really making it up as they went along, and for every great, awesome moment there was a clumsy one. I kind of felt like the season finale recognised how dark and 'un Trek' it had gotten and they're looking at a course correction for season 2. I'd love to see something more of the rest of the crew other than just 'robot head,' 'redhead with stuff on her face,' etc. I'd like to see less torture and nastiness, stuff like the Klingon strip club scene just doesn't work for me at all. It's not the worst Trek ever, but it feels very uncertain of what kind of show it wants to be.

Same here. There needs to be a batter balance of serialized vs episodic stories, like X-Files. That would would give a chance for these secondary characters to get a dedicated episode. At this point I couldn’t even tell you their names.

While the main story felt a little off kilter it was still believable that the Klingons would be worried about their homeworld enough to pull back. Was really hoping to see some other types of Klingons in that’s big chamber.
But Michael getting her rank restored and all the crew getting medals was a great scene.
The Enterprise actually looked okay for how it was designed and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing fin we actually see Pike and company next season.

For all the time they spent in that terrible Klingon (seriously why do they have to talk like that. Listen to how it sounds in TNG era shows. Much more melodic and pleasant. I think they are processing it for effect because even Tyler sounds so unnatural when he's speaking Klingon.) setting up the Klingon war with the federation that's their resolution?! That was terrible.
