Absolutely loved the drug trip. This show is great. I'm bummed knowing this (according to McBride) is a one and done series but at the same time respect that they won't drag it on burning people out in the process.
I thought this was 2 seasons and done?

I heard it's 18 episodes total, but I didn't hear if they're splitting them up or not. I assume they are.

Yes it's split. 9 will air this year and 9 next year.

They just shot all 18 episodes at once.

Thought it was be hard to watch without thinking Kenny Powers the whole show but I really haven't thought that. Love the show. He did say a word where he added an unnecessary S to the end like Kenny Powers does. I wonder if that was an homage to Powers.

Another strong episode. I loved Gamby cursing the students out in front of Dr Brown.

Semantics. In dog years for HBO 18 episodes is a long time, in regular TV that isn't even a full order for one season.

Mcbride had said the story arc is finished (supposedly) and that they wouldn't continue with a series after the 18 episodes are done airing. They aren't going to turn this into a Entourage or Sex in the City where we keep getting season after season for 7 to 9 years. That's what I was referring to. How you want to piecemeal those 18 episodes out to the audience is irrelevant. You could air one episode a year for 18 years and it doesn't make it 18 seasons.

Just got caught up. That tripping scene was absolutely perfect and hilarious! Love the depth we are seeing in these two characters as well. I almost dropped this after Ep3 (the Gamby centric, field trip ep... as it seemed too Kenny Powers-ish) but glad I stuck it out. This show is best with those two interacting and feeding off of one another.

Having a hard time with the show. I think I'm only watching because of Goggins, I have never watched any of his previous shows, he was great in the Tarantino movie though, and I think he's great here too.

At least it's just 30 minutes per episode. I just finished episode 3, and I think I can caught up this week.

You should change that. The Shield and Justified are two of the best shows from the last 15 years.

Goggins is the best thing about this show

He is so far away from Shane Vendrell

I actually wanted him to turn into Shane to kick the ass of that neighbor fitness bully

Has goggins purposely lost a lot of muscle mass for this role ?

I'm up to date.

Lee Russell is my spirit animal... or something like that.

Yes, episode 1 was hard to watch, ep2 wan't a lot better. I mean both episodes had a few good scenes, but the overall product wasn't great. But episodes 4-6 had been great.

Is Russell supposed to come off seeming a little gay? He's reminding me slightly of his role on Sons.

Not gay, but I heard an interview where Goggins said he's playing him as a sort of modern day Southern Dandy.

Or as they used to call them a few years ago: metrosexual.

It was funny the way they addressed this in last night's episode (with the principal's sons).

Not as generally funny as some other episodes, but still pretty good. As usual, Goggins stole every scene he was in.

yeah, thought it was funny they brought it up. I actually like Goggins more than McBride in this series.

It cracks me up that Gamby hates his ex-wife's new boyfriend so much yet he seems like such a decent guy.

It's a refreshing twist on the cliché of the douchebag new boyfriend that we usually see on tv.

I like how every episode feels different in the type of comedy it brings.

Yeah, Ray is just super fucking nice and positive which makes Gamby's hatred that more fun

I think Gamby has mentioned multiple times that Ray stole his wife so I'm assuming that adultery is the reason for his hatred of Ray not the fact that he is her new boyfriend.
