Shouldn't they gotten an air horn for Abraham to blow from the car? I'm guessing that would drown out whatever horn was being blown and keep the walkers following in the right direction.

Seemed like there was a least some plausibility to the urgency since they were moving the trucks that were creating bottlenecks. But I agree there were better options including some home made napalm.

I guess I'd need to see the proximity of the pit to the township. I'd imagine torching that many in one place will 1) attract more walkers, 2) attract other survivors (good or bad), and 3) create a foul stench. Though I'm not sure where they were being herded to? Would kind of suck if they were just sending them down a highway and in turn the herd comes across others who can't stop the wave.

It was very close. The whole reason they found it is because they headed out to bury the guy, Rick then followed the kid, and then heard the herd.

they were just sending the herd along. rather than deal with them by killing them, they essentially were moving them past the community and onto whatever other areas were beyond it.

Huge ratings still. 14.6M viewers and 7.4.
3 million down from season 5 premiere and breaks the trend of increasing ratings for every season premiere. The beginning of the end?

I was thinking the same thing, but I kind of went through all of my friends and co-workers who watch TWD, and none of them have bailed on the show after last season.

I would like to know if there is a corrolation with TWD ratings to a Sunday Night Football Game and if it is ever affected by good or bad matchup? I know the Giants/49ers game was Sunday Night so you had 2 big markets playing.

I think FTWD really diminished the demand for this show.

There was a moment where, as they were driving down the road with the car barriers - they passed a spot where there was clearly a vehicle missing. Guess the zombies wouldn't have spilled out there. LOL

Yeah, I noticed that as well and wondered what was going on there. Also, aren't they long past the point in time where gasoline would no longer be any good. Where are they getting good gasoline? Do they have an oil refinery somewhere?

I really like the show. But shows that go on too long always become more and more of a chore. When you're creatively finished with a show, you should drop it. Worst thing is to go on and on till ratings drop and the legacy of your show is that the 'last few seasons' suck.

I read that SNF ratings were actually pretty lackluster.

Watching season 5 on Netflix again. I think last year's opening scene at Terminus, and the driving scene in "The Distance" (season 5, episode 11) was peak awesomeness for this show.

Oh sure, and the show will continue to profitably run for many seasons to come. But since everyone seemed to be very interested in exactly how big this show could get: well, we have our answer, it seems, and it was last season's premiere.

I don't see the ratings ever topping 17 million again.

Corey mentioned seeing the rock quarry and the walkers previously but decided to go elsewhere on their runs and not mentioning it to anyone until at that meeting with Rick. I guess he figured they were contained there.

[ORIN] 30s to mid 40s. A physically imposing, charismatic, brutal, smart, ferocious, frightening, hilarious, inappropriate, oddly friendly, fun loving sociopath that is both a leader of men and a killer of men. He has both a practical and emotional intelligence, he's a brilliant strategist, he's pure, dangerous, murderous, often gleeful id, that still has both discipline and a code. And he has a temper that can vaporize people. He's truly one of the strongest personalities ever...

It's all about the show being set in a plausible zombie apocalypse and enough characters that people care about. There are definitely better written shows on television.

Well, somebody's in serious trouble...

Spoilers for comic book #100:

(Only read if you've read that issue)

Spoiler:
Wonder who's got a date with Lucille?

Glenn? Daryl? Abraham? Morgan?

Actually, I'm thinking it will be Morgan. They usually try to shake up the big deaths, so Glenn is probably safe. Daryl would be a big shocker. Abraham's death, the unexpected head shot, was given to that one prisoner.

Actually, I'm sort of surprised how some tv/entertainment websites are openly referencing the potential end of this season (ie, issue #100) even going so far as to posting images from the comic on their front pages.

Reminds me of how the shocker finale of the last season of Game of Thrones is being openly spoiled on so many news websites before the DVD and blu-rays have been released.
