So I'm guessing it was Father Gabriel blowing the horn, right? He was pissed Rick wouldn't let him help.

I'm hoping that Abraham's line, "We'll do it live.", was a Bill O'Reilly reference.

probably the fire will attract more walkers although that might a risk they should have taken. I wonder who set off the alarms
Spoiler:
wolves maybe?

Good start to the season.

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E01) -- "First Time Again" -- 10/11/15

Hopefully they reveal who set the horn/alarm off rather than make it some mystery that goes all season without any evidence as to why. I thought maybe Gabe, but then I don't think he could justify killing a whole town to get back at Rick. They were just about in the clear from that crappy plan when it happened.

I'd have definitely figured setting off bombs and shit to kill them in the pit would have been better.

Those flairs and shit would have alerted every zombie and human for a pretty good distance anyhow so hopefully something comes of that and the writers don't just ignore that aspect. I really don't see how they're going to stop the town from being destroyed. Not like they have the numbers to take out a herd that large.

Also where was the village idiot, Carl, at during this entire episode? He never appeared unless I somehow missed that. Might be why this episode was actually pretty good for the most part.

That's how I took it... it certainly made me laugh in recognition...

I think he's briefly seen (Looking like a Mad Hatter) during the scuffle at Alexandria when Rick urges Carter to fight.

We see Carl a couple of times through the episode but he doesn't say anything. The biggest scene he was in was with him and a girl sitting on a roof. The scene was only like 15 seconds at most.

No Carl made this episode awesome.

So that's where all Fear the walking Dead's budget went to.

Did they show something behind the scenes? Because making video look like film is a trivial task.

Re: The Walking Dead (S6E01) -- "First Time Again" -- 10/11/15

I think that Ron(?) kid is blowing the horn. He hates Rick for killing his dad and thinks that if he sabotages Rick's plan the town will blame Rick and turn against him because it was Rick's plan to begin with it.
When Rick finds out he's gonna want to kill the kid. Maybe he actually will. This sets up all kinds of conflict between Rick and those who disagree with him about the kid. Also between Rick and the kid's mom.
If Rick doesn't take the kid out maybe Carol will. It's not like she doesn't have any experience with taking out kids.

I thought it was a good start. I liked the structure of the episode. So, if history repeats itself, I guess that means I'll be bored for 6 out of the 8 first half episodes...

And as been said, this really made FTWD look like even more shit.

So I assume M&M (Michonne & Morgan) did not approve of Rick killing Ethan Embry's character (Carter I think)? They both said something like 'I know how it is or I see how it is'.

If true, what was Rick supposed to do in that situation? Carter was just bit in the face and screaming like a stuck pig with the zombie conga line on the loose? Plus, he was dead anyway due to the bite.

I for one appreciate you coming in this thread to shit on the show one last(!!!) time.

The characters in FTWD are terrible compared to TWD, and last nights episode proved it. Any Morgan/Rick scene was great, and is setting up a good philosophical battle between them this season. Then you have characters like Glenn, Darryl, Carol, etc, who can all hold their own in each episode.

FTWD has none of that as all of the characters all unlikeable and frankly they're very boring too.

I liked the black and white; they should do the whole series this way (I know they broadcast the pilot in B&W some time ago but I never caught it).

As for FTWD, even the "minisode" was a colossal bore. I think they were trying to do a "jump scare" when that woman tapped the kids phone, but they failed miserably.

They spent time setting up cars and walls, why not reinforce the semi-trailers blocking the quarry and then just use a shit ton of .22, rocks, home made explosives just to get rid of them. Hell the ones that come to the noise can fall in and join their kin at the bottom. Even if the plan was successful, there seemed too many to keep going on the road and the. You just leave them 20 miles away and hope the don't turn around?

That's what this whole slow simmer is about. It's gonna come to a head with Rick wanting to kill, or killing someone who others feel don't deserve it. Probably the horn honker.
Rick would have killed the guy whether he was a goner or not to shut him up. He sees everybody not with his program a threat.
"How many of you do I have to kill to save you?"
Sitting on the porch with Morgan, "They don't deserve to live"
Rick also seems to have invested himself emotionally into Alexandria. In reference to the horn he said, "It's coming from home" I can't recall him ever referring to any of the previous places they've holed up in as "home"

Actually, it looked DNRed to me, so I thought the opposite, but according to the end credits, Cinefilm is still doing film processing and HD telecine .

They always put their budget towards the premier/finale episodes. The next one will be greatly scaled back.

Maybe whoever is blowing the horn isn't doing it to sabotage Rick's plan. Maybe the town is under attack and is calling for help?

I think it's Carl getting it on with the girl in a truck blasting music.. and his ass hitting the horn. I'm sure Rick's reaction will be 'You killed everyone but I'm so proud of you Coral!"

Seems obvious it is Gabriel, but who knows if they go that way. I do agree, that they had them blocked in. Just keep reinforcing the area, picking them off one by one. That area was a great buffer for them. Now, it's open, which allows others to head into the same area and head for the community.

Rick has brought death and destruction to almost every location he has visited.
He is truly brings the wrath wherever he goes. I think the only location that him visiting didn't get destroyed was the old folk's home and the Hispanic survivors.
1). RV Camp
2). Herschel's farm
3). Prison
4). Woodbury
5). Terminus
6). Alexandria?

I don't think he is that great of a leader. A triumvirate consisting of Daryl, Carol and Michonne would be 1000x better.
