Might be digging for things that aren’t there on this one.
Broadcasts show maybe 1% of these “first pitches”.

Yeah, as a trans person who watches baseball, I can't recall the last time I saw a ceremonial first pitch televised as part of the broadcast. Unless there's more to this, I would probably say this is a non-issue being blown out of proportion.

I don't watch much sports on tv, but I don't recall many televised sports showing the first pitch, national anthem, etc. unless it is a major event like the Super Bowl. Fox, like other networks are in business to make money. I'm sure they will make more revenue by showing a commercial during the time that someone is doing the first pitch rather than showing the pitch and virtually no one is going to tune out of watching the game just because they couldn't see the first pitch being televised.

Yeah I never watch baseball pregame coverage, so I don’t know what is or isn’t usually shown.

Definitely people reaching for some outrage on this one. When was the last time that you actually saw the ceremonial first pitch, at a regular baseball game, televised?

I didn't even know that they did ceremonial first pitches at every game. I thought it was just at the first game of the season, or maybe special occasions, like if they're promoting a charity.

I dont think they do them at many games in the MLB. Usually only for special occasions, and it is extremely rare that they are broadcast.

It looks like the contestant in the middle got cheated out of the win on the 6/17 episode during Final Jeopardy. You can see she wrote all the letters for "Tubman" but Mayim says "It looks like you were going for "Tubman, but you didn't finish". I can see all five letters there and they've let given many other contestants credit before even though their handwriting was much lee legible than this contestant's writing.
They also gave the current champ credit for a clue during Double Jeopardy when she said "Lou Gerick" instead of "Lou Gehrig".

Looks like bullshit to me.
I've seen them accept other answers that were similarly sloppy, like this one:

Here's similar ones they've ruled correct vs Saddie's. Hers was the most legible out of the four, yet hers was ruled incorrect.

The Jonh Denver one is missing the "r". The Jefferson response is missing the "n" and the "o" looks more like an "e". If I had to guess at what the one guy wrote without knowing anything about the category or what the correct response was, I would have thought he wrote the word "crash". If they allowed the other three, I don't see how they couldn't allow Saddie's response.

I'm surprised this isn't a bigger controversy.
The optics of this are absolutely horrible... They penalized an African-American woman on Juneteenth for not writing the answer "Harriet Tubman" neatly enough, costing her in a win, when they have allowed similarly written answers in the past.
They need to get their asses kicked hard over this.

Yeah, they've definitely got some explaining to do. That's pretty ridiculous.
This issue reminds me of a trivia night I attended. They wanted to know who wrote The Godfather, and I couldn't remember if it was Mario Puza or Mario Puzo, so I had our team captain write the o/a ambiguously. We did get credit for the right answer.

At very least, why didn't the judges ask someone to take her aside before the reveal and actually ask her : "What did you mean to write there?". This isn't a live event. There's no reason not to do that.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion
She is the luckiest five-day winner after this last episode. She made a smart wager for final Jeopardy so that she would be ahead of last place contestant should that contestant bet it all and get it right, while she got it wrong. The contestant in the lead made the worst wager. He should have wagered $9801. That was all he needed to be ahead by $1 should the top two get it right. Had the champ bet it all, it would have been a tie between the other two at $200 each. They both ended with $200 at the end but he got second place, I guess because he had more going into Final

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion
Well, her luck ran out this episode. It looked like she was going to pull out a win, but the other contestant got it right and started with a higher score than her. The last place contestant made a mistake with the last daily double and clue. She bet enough that if she missed it, she would be tied with the other contestant for first place going into Final Jeopardy. She should have bet $999 so she still would have had a $1 lead going into FJ.

My wife and I like to watch together and play against each other (we get quite competitive!). We don't get to watch every night, so we record them. We're about two weeks behind.
I don't mind Bialik and Jennings sharing host duties on this show, I like both of them.

Jeopardy! Hosted by Alex Trebek is now live at Pluto TV, a 24/7 channel of "specially curated episodes of the Emmy-winning program featuring the great Alex Trebek". It looks like Pluto also has on-demand episodes available
