Re: Jeopardy! Discussion
Yeah, I mean, "chicken nuggets" is technically correct, but I've seen Jeopardy be sticklers about that kind of thing before.
And ok, let me rephrase my analogy clue. How about "This sandwich is described as 'two all-beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickles onions on a sesame bun'"
Would you accept "What is a double cheeseburger?" which is also technically correct?

I was listening, not watching, while making dinner. When I heard the FJ question, I knew Mattea was dead in the water. Was really surprised she pulled it out.
But then I rewound it and watched, and you can totally see that Sarah didn't know the answer.

Mattea actually missed quite a few questions and spent most of her time trailing the other woman. I think she was bit quicker on the buzzer than Mattea, as she got a lot of questions M should have know.
And she got really lucky on that final question.

I know she wouldn't be interested in me for very obvious reasons, but I think that Mattea is just cute as a button. And I like her in-game banter. This is a long-running champ that I tune in to watch her WIN, not to hope for her to finally get beaten.

Right? I mean, at least write something. Hell, be funny and put "What is The Incredibly Strange People Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-up Zombies?"

The winning streak is over. Congrats to Mattea! That was a heck of a run.

Thanks to my local news for spoiling it for me by posting the 'news' on facebook just a couple hours after it aired. Ironically, it was when I got home from Doctor Strange, which I was successful in avoiding spoilers.

Yeah, I had it spoiled for me too, but I rarely watch Jeopardy on Fridays anyway (especially with Last Drive In back on) so in an annoying way I was glad they did so I could DVR it.

There was more than one good game this week. We were satisfied with the ending of her run.
How many shows are in a season? Between Matt Amodio, Amy, and Mattea, there don't seem to be a lot of episodes for other contestants for the Tournament of Champions.

The really crazy thing about the next ToC is that it's going to include 3 of the top 5 contestants with the highest streaks, and if Jennings is hosting, that means all but Holzhauer will be involved!

I'm surprised to see Amodio as the least of the three big winners this season, it seemed like he was on forever. I definitely wouldn't have thought he won fewer games than Roach.
Oh wait. You said this season. Didn't his streak start last season? What was his overall win total, spanning the two seasons?

By the way, every time Ken Jennings steps aside and Mayim Bialik comes back, there's articles about angry fans. Is that really a thing, or media trying to find a story where there isn't one? I think Bialik does just fine as host. Jennings does well too, I don't see anything that cements the decision one way or the other. Are people really just that mysogynistic that they get their panties in a bunch when a woman is hired to do a prominent job?

I feel like there is probably both, but pushed by media to become a story.
I think they both do fine as well, but I prefer Ken's personality a bit. He seems more personable/real and she's a bit more by-the-book wooden. Nothing wrong with that, just my personal take, I'm fine with either.

I'm always disappointed when Mayim comes back. She's not terrible, and has certainly improved, but I much prefer Ken.

I like both, but I prefer Ken.
He's really nailed the gameshow host thing down, and just feels like he belongs there. He's got that Trebek thing where he's affable and likeable with the intellectual edge needed for Jeopardy.
While I like Bialik, she comes off a bit more affected and actor-y.
As such, I think Ken is probably better suited for the Daytime Jeopardy, and Bialik well-equipped for the Primetime specials.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion
This new guy seems to have a weird Final Jeopardy betting strategy. He's ahead of the other contestant, but no where near enough to be a runaway game. His wager would not have been enough to win if next highest contestant bet it all and got it correct. He's basically gambling that the other contestant would get it wrong, otherwise he wouldn't be able to win. I think he even did that in at least on eof the other two games he's played.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion
just noticed the other night with Mayim they said "the host of jeopardy" and not "hosting jeopardy"
didn't notice when it was Ken before her if they did the same

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion
They've been doing this for the past year. Mayim is an official host, while Ken is still considered a guest host. I feel like most people prefer him over her and ratings will drop if they have her as the only host of Jeopardy.
