Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

6 days into the new guy's streak, and Bialik still mentions Matt Amodio every show. That's gotta annoy the hell out of Jonathan.

Well it’s really only day two of filming since Matt lost.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

I got a kick out of this clue tonight:

I just wish they had answered "What is Rock, Rock, Rockaway Beach?"

^ I wonder if they would have allowed that as a question.

If the person who wrote the clue is also one of the judges, I'd say absolutely.

Got a good streak going. Not flashy, but gets it done.

Very simple FJ question even if you are not a lawyer. There are very few 19th century famous SCOTUS decisions and that one is the most infamous.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Yeah, even though Jonathan has been going for a week, the games are closer and a little more interesting. He's not as dominant as Matt was, but he's still pretty good.

I think it's better that at least Matt got taken down by a consistently good player, not a one-and-done who only wins one day.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

John C. Reilly has won nine straight games now. I wonder how long he can keep his streak up.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Yesterday's game adds to my theory that Jonathan has won so many games on being lucky. Missing two daily doubles and still manages to win. He's missed more answers than previous long running champions its crazy how long his win streak has been at his play level and should've been eliminated by now.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Yea, he's a decent player but I never would have guessed he'd still be going this long. I can't seem to find a list anywhere of average coryat scores, it would be interesting to see how Jonathan's compare to the other ultra champs.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Going back to last week, I can't believe that as a Police fan I missed the Roxanne FJ. I was thinking the answer was Lady Marmalade

(the clue was, paraphrasing, the idea for this song came when the group saw a group of prostitutes standing in front of a poster for a production of Cyrano de Bergerac)

I assume they will split him up from Matt in the opening round.

I've never paid that much attention, but I assume they "seed" the players in their tournaments of champions.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

John C. Reilly was beaten by the female Ned Flanders (Although I'm sure she won't wear the dark green sweater over the pink shirt every game).

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

It might be too early but that Andrew might be another long running champ. Pretty impressed at already hitting over $100k .

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Andrew is averaging about $35k per game for his first three games. Does the show invite people to the Tournament of Champions who win a lot of money, even if they don't win five days?

It's generally by number of wins, then by $ won (as in, if there aren't enough 5 day winners, then they take the 4 day winners starting with the highest $ total). But as we saw with Emma, they can make executive decisions if they want.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

Really good game last night. Second place person had exactly half of Andrew, they bet it all on FJ and got it. Andrew bet a dollar on FJ and also got the right answer, thus winning the day by $1.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

The guy that's the current Jeopardy champion is having a good run. He just got over $61,000 today and is nearly at $500,000 after twelve wins!!
