DeKnight is leaving because I think he still wants to get his show for Starz Incursion off the ground. You have to realize that most showrunners don't want to oversee something they didn't create.
But glad to see it get renewed.

DeKnight tweeted that he's leaving because of a previous commitment on a feature film. He said he can't reveal any details yet.

It's funny, since he ended up using a cheap getup to talk to Commissioner Gordon at the beginning of TDKR. But yeah stuff from Year One where he'd wear a beanie or a fake scar, that stuff was cool.

Snake, we get it. you don't like AoS. Daredevil is obviously the better show, but people enjoy AoS. Just let them be. Or we're dangerously close to creating a Snake Vortex, where every comic show discussion derails into how bad AoS is.

Luke and Danny, on the other hand, I flat-out love. So I am a little worried that Cage's series is going to look weak compared to the fantastic first season of DD. I don't know if they can do another street-level show that can top it. I figure the first season of Cage will be about his escape from prison and attempts to clear his name, and that may not be as compelling as the battle against an near-omnipresent force like Wilson Fisk. I really hope I am proven wrong, however! And I'd love to see a Cage vs. Gladiator throwdown.
Iron Fist, on the other hand, I have no concerns over. The groundwork laid down during the Daredevil has been intriguing and the kung fu mysticism angle will make it easier not to draw a direct comparison between the two shows.

I watched the first few episodes last night. The first episode was borderline terrible but the second one picked up quite a bit. The hallway fight scene at the end of part 2 was fantastic! Incredible direction and camerawork for that sequence!

It was more reminiscent of the first Raid rather than the hallway fights with Hammer girl and Bat boy. I do love the dirty style of fighting this version of Daredevil has adopted. And while I love the brutality of Fisk, for some reason, I always thought d'onofrio was much larger.

Which was a throwback to when he did the same exact thing when he first spoke to Gordon in BB. That was intended as a clear Year One nod. I always enjoyed that it took an hour of BB's runtime to get to the point where Bruce first dons the Batman costume.

It's only a Snake Vortex if he also nonsensically works in the claim that he's fucked gymnasts and ballerinas. I get being proud of his "conquests" but, given how often he feels the need to bring them up, it starts to feel like he's making it up and desperately hoping people will eventually believe him. Most guys I know that get as much tail as Snake claims, are far more relaxed about it.

I read the comics many years back but a question for those more familiar with them. I don't recall that many people who "know" his identity. Is it that common for this many people to know who Daredevil is?
This thing is fantastic BTW. I only have one to go.

Later in the early 2000s, Matt was publicly outed to the whole world that he is Daredevil. He went to prison for awhile. I haven't read anything past that era, so I don't know if that has been retconned or not.

Oops
It hasn't. In fact, Matt officially "came out" a year or so back, getting disbarred in New York in the process.
Both Karen and Foggy know Matt is Daredevil in the comics. In the infamous Born Again story written by Frank Miller in the mid 1980s, Karen was addicted to drugs and she sold Matt's secret to a drug dealer in exchange for a fix. The drug dealer then told Kingpin, and Kingpin royally fucked up Matt's life.
