That's cool. Bill's one of my favorite artists. Finally had a chance to meet him a few years back at Wondercon. How much did he charge for that?

Actually, I started to talk about Bruce Lee and he's a big fan. He went on about how other artist can't seem to get Bruce's face right.

I haven't read DD since Brubaker went off, so I might be rusty on my knowledge. But didn't everyone know Matt was DD when he declared himself the Kingpin of Hell's Kitchen? That was during Bendis' run. If not... how'd he OFFICIALLY become outed?

So what was the deal with Madame Gao? When she was asked if she was going back to China she said something like "Considerably farther than that."

It just seemed like a weird way to say it, almost like they were inferring she was an alien or from a different dimension.

Your answer lies within RocShemp's answer. If you don't mind being spoiled, you could google info on Iron Fist.

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix) - Season 1 Thread - Premieres 4/10/15

I am not very familiar with Iron Fist, but I think Madam Gao was talking about
Spoiler:
K'un-Lun

It sounds like K'un-Lun is an alien city that exists within a pocket dimension near China. I could be wrong though since I am unfamiliar with Iron Fist and just found this by googling.

I do know the logo on her drugs is also the same logo used by Steel Serpent, who is an enemy of Iron Fist.

His identity was exposed during Bendis's run, but Matt continued to deny it in public. He did declare himself to be the Kingpin while not wearing a mask, but that was just to the city's criminal elelement. Now that I think about it, the Daredevil as the Kingpin story didn't really go anywhere.

During Waid's run he exposed himself in court.

Taken out of context, that sounds like he pulled out his weiner in court.

I liked the series over all and I understand the truncated timeline, but...
Spoiler:
would have preferred Ben to hang around longer

It's a real place with their own style of martial arts. Similar to DC's Nanda Parbat which is fictional.

I guess he isn't going to be in the Civil War movie.

If anything,
Spoiler:
I was hoping that they could tweak the MARVELS story structure so that it had Ben (instead of Phil Sheldon) actually writing about all the events happening.

Re: Marvel's Daredevil (Netflix) - Season 1 Thread - Premieres 4/10/15

Just finished bingeing the first season on Netflix. One question about the very last scene in the last episode:

Spoiler:
Did Murdock say or do something that made Karen realize he's Daredevil? That look on her face and the closeup after he extended his hand definitely looked like a "lightbulb" moment.

Yeah, like a month ago - they've all moved on.

Good stuff. Marvel's heaviest show yet. I couldn't binge watch this one. Took a few weeks.

Also: I got tired of hearing everyone deliver their lines like they're on the edge of tears.

You misread that. That was her developing feelings for Matt. Kinda weird since, although there was an initial attraction when she first stayed at his place (first episode), the writers pushed really hard for a thing between her and Foggy. I guess they are setting up a tedious love triangle for season 2.

I agree with this assessment. The love-triangle is a call back to the original comic book where she was first introduced.
