Watched episode 5, but haven't had a chance to watch episode 6 yet.
Was another good episode. They are hitting a grove for procedural work and letting some backstory seep in. I like the slow progression of his relationship with the detective as well.
They had a nice takeout and resolution at the end. I liked the multitued of suspects as well. Usually I spot the murderer in an instant, but not the case here.
As for ratings, the +7 DVR figures are encouraging. I'm tempted to play episodes on demand. Helps more than watching live or what I record - nobody is able to track those.

Sigh...a 1.1 18-49 rating, what is probably my favorite new show of the fall season will now be cancelled. As Deadline points out, right about now is when you get announcements of shows that have been picked up or received additional episode orders, so it is horrible timing that this ep had the worst ratings of the handful of eps that have aired.

Phantom...relax dude, my brother in law is in the business (he lives in Sherman Oaks - "The Village," and quite a few folks in the business also live there), and he knows that loose lips sink ships. Those glimpses of anticipated films that air at the San Diego / New York comic cons and make fans pee their pants because they get all excited and can't contol themselves, he often times had something to do with what is seen in rooms like Hall H.
Edited to add: regarding Forever, I am bummed but not surprised that we will be lucky if ABC Burns off the episodes that are already in the can.

Episode 6 was easily the best to date! Great balance and blend of procedural, flashbacks and overarching story arc. In fact, all 3 came together nicely.
Even Henry dying was handled supurbly. The first deathblow was a shock, follow by three brutal/merciful second. Deft use of the plot device. For a moment, I really thought she was going to find him. If the show is on long enough, I'd like for her to find out in a bittersweet way. Perhaps they have a conversation where she understands before he disappears.
Side note - I notice he doesn't leave any blood behind. Also, we had a further glimpse into the re-birth flashbacks.

I have not finished the newest episode, yet there is one odd thing.
What photo has ever had a time stamp on it like that? That has to be one of the most forced clues I have ever seen.

Picked up for a full 22 episode season.
You can thank the 82% gain from DVR watchers to keeping this on the air. The live overnights were meh.

Forever got off to an OK start, posting a rare Week 2 ratings increase. It’s Live+same day ratings have been so-so lately, most recently logging a 1.1 in adults 18-49, but it has been a big DVR gainer. In the most recent DVR report, Forever had the biggest percent gain among all ABC series, +82%.

Happy about the news. I was surprised by this show. I kind of the hope the season 1 finale doesn't end in cliffhanger in case there is no season 2.

This week was easily the best episode to date. I liked how the case of the week mirror Henry's own "dual" life. Depending on if the detective finds out his secret, it will be interesting to see how she reacts. We met Henry's first wife a few episodes ago, I'd be curious to revisit her again to show him getting out of the asylum, showing her the truth, and seeing her reaction.

Anybody else still watching this? Fantastic episode this week, they really stepped up the game. I had a hunch on the twist, but still riviting.
Interesting how Henry provided the partial truth and it managed to get some results. I really thought he was going to tell Joe. Since she is a detective, I'm starting to get a Superman and Lois vibe. Maybe she'll figure it out.
Nice to see a continuation of Henry's original life and time in the institution!
Series is bringing some sci-fi cred too! First Nina Sharp (Blair Brown) then Owen Harper (Burn Gorman).

As soon as I saw the psychiatrist, I knew he was going to end up being the #anonymous caller. It was pretty cheesy how the put that hash-tag on the screen as Henry was coming down the stairs.

Do you mean who he is historically? They have already revealed his identity. He gave Abe the Nazi log book with his parents id. He also killed the art thief who was selling items reclaimed from the Nazi.

Yeah, based on the dagger they made it sound like he is thousands of years old from at least Roman times.
Another great episode this week. The gas mask scene was really great. Emotionally so close, yet separated. Great staging.
The threat from the modern hackers was really interesting as well. Amazing that her be so susseptible from something he has so little control over - technology.

Re: Forever (ABC) -- Series Thread
I truly love this show. It actually historically outperforms ABC shows in the same time slot and has great DVR viewing. They clearly pivoted just slightly from the original concept (looked like they were going with death of the week, and some tuned out early because of this) of the show and have come up with that rare procedural that is better than the sum of its parts and has some real heart. Ioan and Alana have real chemistry and Judd Hirsch really seems like his son. I used to wish shows were more serialized and actually developed an overall storyline. Now most things are completely serialized, and I think this one finds a great balance. Because you could theoretically start with any episode and get what is going on, I think if given time it will build a bigger audience. If renewed and rerun over the summer, it might pick up a lot of momentum. Unlikely, but it is of rare quality for network procedurals.

^^^The episodes where Hirsch was researching his past was cool and how it concluded was really good. I know the odds are astronomical but I was really happy for him.

This is one of our weekly favorites. We LOVE the relationship between Henry and Abe, and are completely sucked in by the mystery surrounding Adam. The humorous tone of the show is a plus, and we can't wait until one of Henry's co-workers figure out his secret.
