Next you're gonna tell me that Bolivar and the vampire hit squad also had shitty make-up.
Hmm.. maybe I'm so used to zombies looking great that Nicotero and crew create on TWD. Doesn't matter if they are primary, secondary, or backgound.. they look pretty damn good.

Don't know why you feel the need to defend poor quality when it's there. I expect a lot if GDT is supposedly there to oversee each episode.

Well, I also don't want to compare budgets from The Strain vs. Walking Dead. Obviously The Walking Dead has a much larger budget.

Also, these are zombies and vampires that aren't turned into vampires the ordinary way. Their look and structure is way different.

It's semantics at this point but it's not bad. GDT can only do so much if he's working on Crimson Peak, though, and he'll be back to direct the final 2 episodes of the season.

Would the Strain's budget be on par with Walking Dead Season 1 ?

Probably not. I don't know what the budget is for The Strain season but Walking Dead season 1 was 6 episodes(?) and they budgeted that around 4 million for the 6. I'm not sure how much FX is paying for the season. Maybe along the same lines or just a bit more due to there being 13 episodes?

BTW - fun trivia - Vasiliy Fet was written with Guillermo del Toro regular 'Ron Perlman' in mind.

Yeah i just remember us all complaining about Walking Dead the early days when the budget allowed for only one zombie kill per episode

That's what it reminded me of, too!

I thought the design was absolutely horrendous. And let's not forget how "worried" Eph is about his wife, so much that he has enough time to bang his partner while the city is in turmoil.

This show is something else.
