I think it was cancelled before they aired any of it. Total eps was shortened too.

It aired/streamed one episode before Warner made the announcement.

I meant that they had already decided it would be cancelled but didn’t announce it until one ep had aired.

As noted elsewhere but should be in the thread too,

One Day at a Time picked up by Pop TV after being canceled by Netflix.

Not that anyone watched it here, but the military show The Code was cancelled by CBS after 1 season

https://deadline.com/2019/07/the-cod...GmwDZln2yNDe70

Premiere way too late, had little to no promotion and aired into the summer. It was DOA. At least Blood and Treasure is a fun summer escapism show.

That's too bad; I've been enjoying The Code. Although, thx to DTV I missed this week's episode.

The Boys (Amazon Prime) was picked up for Season 2 back on the 19th... before Season 1 even aired.

Amazon cancelled 5 shows today. Pretty much no surprises as none of these shows had any kind of buzz

https://tvline.com/2019/07/27/amazon...-forever-list/

Lore
Forever
Patriot
The Romanoffs
Too old to die young

and I'm sure most of you here never heard of or watched any of these.

On the flip side, they already renewed Carnival Row before it has even aired.

While I'm not surprised, I'm still really bummed about Patriot because that is one of my favorite shows from the past few years. It's so well written and directed and the dark humor plays perfectly. If ever there was a show that should have gotten more attention, this was it.

Yeah, Patriot was great. I really liked that one.

I've watched all of the rest, except Too Old..., was planning on watching it at some point. I won't miss any of the others. Lore was mostly background noise when I watched it. Romanoff's was OK, had it moments depending on the guest stars.

Forever was amazing and had some of my favorite episodes of television all year.

Netflix cancelled the OA

Hope this means Brit Marling will do more movies

The OA” will not be back for a third season at Netflix, Variety has learned. The mystery thriller starred Brit Marling as a blind woman who disappeared seven years ago only to suddenly return with her sight restored. Now referring to herself as The OA, or Original Angel, she then recruits a small team to help rescue other people who have disappeared by opening a portal to another dimension.

Apparently there were only 11 episodes produced.

The show's expense must have made it impossible for Syfy to keep it up with the declining ratings. Because it looked far more expensive than every other Syfy series of the past decade.

A shame because it had an incredible first season and was really building an interesting mythology. This is why ongoing science fiction series are all but dead. Networks are cheap and unless you are pulling Game of Thrones-type ratings, they won't make it.

Ballers upcoming 5th season will be its last one on HBO.

I know this show is not really liked by many in this forum, so I know the reaction to this is probably Meh.

I don't remember if I finished the last season. I think I did, but it was that uneventful.

PhantomStranger 08-23-19 04:56 PM

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News

How Ballers made it five seasons is beyond me. That show always felt like HBO wanted their brand associated with Dwayne Johnson by hook or crook, and didn't care about its quality.
