At first I thought this was about the PSN series Powers. I was shocked it had made it to six seasons (I looked I guess it was canceled after 2).

Once streaming, DVR and overseas sales started playing a bigger part on renewals and things were less reliant on those old Nielsen ratings, I stopped caring.

I just checked there and it looks like traffic is down big time. Daily ratings posts used to get 700-1000+ posts per day. Now barely 200. The finals under 100 posts. I was starting to suspect this long ago, but no one gives a shit about Nielsen ratings anymore.

I was wondering about this earlier today, was looking at some recent Live+7 ratings and it's just brutal. As in they wouldn't be making shows for Broadcast television anymore if these were the full picture.

I think networks still care about ratings, but the producers behind the shows care less and less with each passing year. It's my understanding that the CW shows survive with streaming deals and international syndication already in place, so their ratings mean almost nothing.

Fresh off the Boat

The Rookie

Bless this Mess

American Housewife

Single Parents

all renewed by ABC

Most of these no one watches here except The Rookie and maybe FOB.

Since Leighton Meester appeared on The Orville, I've given Single Parents another try. Not great but not bad.

I'm not much for traditional sitcoms any more, however I watched the first couple of seasons of Fresh Off The Boat, and I'm hoping to get caught up with the rest this summer. And I may give Bless This Mess a try because of Lake Bell.

The Rookie really grew into its own this season, so it’s nice to see its renewed. Hopefully season 2 continues the trend but shakes things up - a lot of opportunities for new characters and combination of existing.

I know no one here watches it. But, Madam Secretary's 6th season will be the last one. 10 episodes.

I still watch it. The quality has held up over the seasons. This being the case, I assume the show with end with her being elected president.

One of my wife's favorite shows. I watch it too.

Maybe they'll change it to Madam President?

My wife and I thought the same thing. Honestly, the show hasn't gotten stale for either of us. We'd both gladly watch new seasons with her as Pres.

Same here - we (wife and I) are also hoping for at least a season of Madam President

Not really a surprise. Season three ended with several key cast members written out of the show and it came to a logical ending point.

Same here. One of the few serious broadcast TV shows I still watch.

Deadly Class had a great cast and not much else going for it. Tried a little too hard being edgy and I never once bought its period setting.

Swamp Thing was cancelled by DC Online. Very weird as it just premiered - I think one episode has aired. I can’t imagine the viewing numbers were enough to make a decision on alone.
