Does ABC/Disney still own them? With everything being canceled, might be a good idea to lower expectations quite a bit. Not even the PLL spinoff (two of them, by the way) lasted more than 1 season.

Freeform is still owned by Disney

They have not been able to develop a hit drama since Pretty Little Liars.

Not exactly true. PLL debuted in June 2010. Switched at Birth, while it didn't last as long as PLL, was a hit (had the best debut in ABC Family history, premiered in June 2011, one year after PLL. I doubt the channel will ever get any hits like that ever again. It's also a bit shocking that none of the girls on PLL ever truly broke out, though CW is giving Lucy Hale another crack at leading a series after her first series got canceled.

They used to have a lot of "teen relationship" shows, such as The Secret Life of the American Teenager, The Fosters, Switched at Birth, Make it or Break it, even PLL. Now it all seems to be Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff like Shadowhunters, Cloak & Dagger, and Siren. I much preferred the first category. Although they have moved to some "young adult" relationship shows, such as The Bold Type and Good Trouble, both of which I find entertaining after I got over thinking that Callie and Mariana were still the adolescents they were in The Fosters and that it was OK to watch them having sex.

IMO, the best show ever on ABC Family was Bunheads, with Sutton Foster. Not really a match for that network at all, but it had fantastic dance numbers in every episode.

Freeform seems to be canceling all of its sci-fi/fantasy. I don’t know what they’ll replace it with.

Suits spinoff Pearson was cancelled after 1 season.

To make a long story short, nobody watched it. It was the lowest rated USA original series.

I still have to finish the final season of Suits. I thought about trying Pearson, but I simply didn't have the time even though it was only a short 10 episode season.

I liked it, but mainly because I really like Gina Torres as an actor. It was a show that could never quite figure out what it wanted to be. Jessica was supposed to be a fixer, but she was such an outsider to Chicago that she often seemed helpless instead of strong. Going from kick-ass on Suits, it was a little hard for me to imagine her as that same character in Pearson. Maybe the show would have found itself if given more of a chance, but I can understand its low audience.

Mayans MC renewed for a 3rd season. But no one is watching here, so I don’t even try to talk or start discussions anymore to deaf ears. Shame because it’s a good series.

lol.

I watch it. Season 1 was a mixed back that didn't really seem to find it's footing, but season 2 has been great, just no one to really talk with here about it.

This will be the final season of Fresh off the Boat

Constance Wu won't have to bitch on Twitter anymore at yet another renewal.

I used to love this show but it jumped the shark two seasons ago, IMO. I feel awful for Mrs. Wu who had to endure a hit show on prime-time television. Nobody should have to go thru that.

I was very happy when Netflix picked it up, and I enjoyed the episodes that I watched, but I've only watched about half of the first Netflix season.

The CW renews everything including Roswell, Legends of Tomorrow and In the Dark, which hasn't aired yet. Katy Keene hasn't premiered yet, but got new script orders.

Black Lightning's ratings are only down 29%

https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/b...three-ratings/

But I can see why you would think that. Black Lightning has absolutely no buzz in the entertainment press. It's probably one of the most under the radar super hero shows airing. No one talks about it.

CW cancels nothing these days. One almost has to wonder if it's a money laundering outfit for CBS and Warner. Heard an interesting rumor the network may end Supergirl and Batwoman, but put them together in a new show called World's Finest.

An innovative gender-swapped take on the Superman/Batman teamup comic World's Finest.

Some outlets are reporting that the CW is renewing everything due to fears of a writers strike this Spring.

Interesting. Black Lightning was the CW hero show I liked the most. It took me until this season to finally say "I've had enough of this crap." With the others, it happened much earlier.

American Dad renewed for 2 more seasons at TBS: https://deadline.com/2020/01/america...bs-1202830957/

I regularly watch re-runs on Adult Swim so this is cool with me, even if it's fallen off sharply in the last few years.

One of those shows I binge. Basically let them all collect, then watch a bunch.

Current American Dad is still probably better than any of its original competitors - Family Guy, South Park, and Simpsons. The show is consistently more funny than any of those other former greats.
