The last few times I watched all they did was blow things up and I don't find that as fun or interesting as they seem to.

There's a tribute video on the Mythbusters facebook page with Jamie and Adam breaking the news.

Kari said on Twitter they were told the show was going in a new direction as the reason they were being let go.

In their video, Adam/Jamie said they were going "back to their roots".

It's a shame. Jamie is a bore 90% of the time and rarely looks like he's having fun. Him and Adam also have very little chemistry. Kari, Tori & Grant always had fun and had great chemistry together. They were a great balance on the show.

That does suck and if they wanted to go in a "new direction" or w/e, split the team up every once in a while. Pair them up every so often rather than constantly having A and B teams...

Wow. Terrible idea. Let's hope we get another show somewhere with them all on.

Definitely has a 'cost cutting' vibe to it. I have two daughters that love the show. I imagine interest will drop without Kari around. Really dumb move on Discovery's part.

I wonder if they have stuff already in the can that they're scrapping.

Seems like a dumb move, even though I tend to enjoy Adam & Jamie's style more the "build team" segments have become a core part of the show.

In some ways I wish the would "go back to their roots", but I think that ship has sailed. The first season's format was a lot better since they focused on one myth at a time instead of cutting between multiple myths and having a large chunk of each episode be either teaser or recap footage.

Also, I was under the impression that the build team was brought on because Adam and Jamie just didn't have enough time to do all the work themselves. If they continue with the current production output are they going to just have no-name workers do more work off camera? Or are they really going to revamp the show and do things in a much different way?

Yeah, that sucks - they provide 95% of the humor on the show. I like watching Jamie and Adam figure things out (you can't deny they are talented at what they do) but the build team seemed like they were all having serious fun.

If this wasn't a "fired them all" move, Discovery could easily develop a half-hour show with the three of them. If they don't, someone else should definitely do it.

Well, that's unfortunate. Jamie and Adam are cool and all, but the other three are the ones I really enjoy on the show. Hopefully they can get something going on their own.

I guess I'm in the minority but I've always liked the Adam and Jamie segments better personally. Kari is hot but other than that meh. This show's prime has pretty much passed anyways.
