Re: Chuck

I need to rewatch the series finale, wouldn't mind checking out the extended cut, but I think it could sit a bit better with me. Essentially they are swapping roles from the pilot. Would have been nice to be more happiness though instead of muted optimism.

Re: Chuck

I watched the highlights over the entire series in the past couple of weeks, now I'm watching the entire episodes of the whole series again. Just finished S1.

Still fresh, Zachary is still darn good as Chuck.

Re: Chuck

One of my favorites. I don't know if you can call it binging since I'm really taking my time but I'm in the middle of season 4. every few weeks I'll watch a couple episodes. I put the "marathon" in marathon.

Re: Chuck

I appreciate the finer details on repeat viewings. Like S1 finale when Chuck bangs his head on the table on finding the ring is gone (around the 9 min mark), and then jerks back because of the pain and falls out of his chair -- I wonder if that was unscripted.

S2 episode 1: We can see a bump in Chuck's confidence already. When the team asks him if he's got the cipher, he says "of course I got it, it's me!".

Some people here said they didn't like when Chuck got powers, I disagree, I think it helped to keep the show fresh.

Re: Chuck

I agree with your disagree. Him with powers was still quite fun. I didn't like it as much when Morgan got his powers, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment a whole lot.

There were several arcs that were weaker than others but still a fun show right up until the end. The last couple episodes were a buzzkill after everything he went through. The others, for better or worse needed to be there. You just couldn't have him sitting in the van like a doofus for 5 seasons.

Re: Chuck

I almost posted the same thing. Like any show it had it's weak moments but even in those the show was still damn fun and/or funny(I wasn't a fan of the Routh character/arc, but it was still entertaining) Also same sentiment with your last point, you couldn't have Sarah and Casey being his handlers/babysitter for 5 years. Talk about redundant and dull.

Re: Chuck

I liked the Shaw arc.

Just watched the Jill episode.

Some memorable moments.
The withering look Sarah gives Chuck in the restaurant when he's being a whiny bitch

I was just thinking about Chuck the other day. I need to watch the S1 Thanksgiving episode when Bryce comes back. It really captures the holiday spirit and is such a great episode too boot.

"I'm really thankful Bryce Larkin is dead and is not currently in my bedroom making out with my girlfriend"

And then I remember what happens to Bryce in S2 finale, and I get sad.

"Wow, really specific bro."

I loved Captain Awesome. He was always one of my favorite characters.

Great episode.

Season 2 was my favorite. Don't think there was a stinker in the bunch. The show was really hitting on all cylinders. Chuck vs. the Santa Clause will have to get pulled out here in the next few weeks as well.

Re: Chuck

Chuck vs the Fat Lady

Zack is quite athletic. That jump of his over the rope at Buy More...

I remember when I saw the end reveal for the first time...I was like, NO NO NO, we want something good to happen to Chuck!!!!

The original song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8fVX41-Njg
They had to do some editing because of the lyrics

Re: Chuck

I wish there was a compilation of the Morgan and Capt. Awesome roadtrip commercials for Honda as they travel to Vancouver for the Olympics.

Another gem from that episode: On hearing about a revival tournament for the game, Casey starts about how these guys would have jobs and families, and Chuck in the background just shakes his head. What a gamer-diss

S02E14 Chuck vs The Best Friend:
So many different emotion-threads.
Comedy
Chuck getting serious about how Morgan was there when his parents left.
Sarah's tearful face when the car blows up.
Jeffster's first appearance.
Jeffrey blocking the door with his hand.

The way the directors balanced comedy and serious drama in this series is amazing. It's like a beautiful symphony.

Re: Chuck

Every year on Black Friday I think about the Black Friday episode and seriously consider going to a big box store and yelling "Pineapple!!" and seeing if anyone gets it.

Re: Chuck

I most definitely watched the episode again on Thanksgiving. Such a classic.

I know it was only a handful of years ago, but I feel like so many shows don't to holiday based episodes any longer. I always feel like they help give a show a good sense of reality and ground in by providing a sense of timing the viewer can relate to.

Re: Chuck

Chuck was Awesome! up until they didn't know what to do with Jeff and Lester. After then it was still great, but the chore it was to get through the scenes with those two brought it down a notch. Same has happened to the Big Bang Theory with Howard and Raj.

I disagree. Jeff and Lester brought a certain Chuck specific quirkiness to the show. Like that Fight Club bit.

Comparing Chuck to TBBT is such a diss towards Chuck though.
