Anyway, not a great episode. A few chuckles here and there.

He is now Satan on Lucy: Daughter of the Devil on [adultswim]. My wife hates Home Movies (one of my favorites), McGuirk in particular and after hearing him in Aqua Teen Hunger Force (the Mothman), Assy McGee, Venture Bros and this week from Lucy she commented on him being in all these cartoons, then we watch Family Guy and there was again for her listening pleasure.

Holy crap....what happened?

This was definitely the worst episode of family guy I have ever seen. It was even less funny than all of the Season 1 episodes. The long, drawn out dialogs between Carl and Chris were just terrible. You would think there would at least be a joke in there but it was just them jabbering on and on. There were only two funny scenes in the whole episode, the phone sex part and the part where Stewie was trying to convince Brian he should have sex with him to get over Jillian. That's pretty bad...two funny moments in an entire episode. I agree with everyone that Carl should never be shown again. Listening to five straight minutes of a monotone voiced guy talking about what happened in a bunch of bad movies is not funny. Those "jokes" must have actually been written by manatees, as South Park implied.

I saw this over the weekend and I really didn't think it was that funny. There were some amusing moments (like the LimpSaber), but overall it just felt stale. Star Wars parodies are SO old and overdone that there's really nothing new to add to it anymore. I probably would have found this funnier if Robot Chicken hadn't just done it (better) and Spaceballs didn't exist.

not a big a fan of Joes character. All the episodes I've seen that have focused on him have been kinda dull.

Stewie ripping and then killing Colin Ferrell was more than enough to make this a great episode!

The first 10 or 12 minutes were fairly blah, but everything after Joe farting on Peter in the Dojo was hilarious!

Something I've always wondered about Family Guy is that so many jokes are references to 80's pop-culture, do people that were born after the 80's just wonder what the hell they are talking about?

I've wondered the same thing. That's usually the stuff I laugh hardest at.

Yes, absolutely. I despise Family Guy, last night was the first episode I'd seen a little of, since the first season (& about 10 minutes of the Star Wars ep). And half the reason why I find absolutely nothing funny about the show is that I don't get any of the TV show references, or sometimes it's a dumb commercial or something from the past that I have no clue what it is. Even if I got the references (actually , they aren't even references, it just blatantly swipes something from the past), it is so mind-numbing, how the humor is just the same redundant joke over & over & over again on this show. The lack of intelligence in the writing & ephasis that the viewer is nothing but a television-raised vegetable makes my soul bleed.

My problem with the references is that there isn't much substance to it. For no reason at all during the Star Wars ep. there's the Clark family. Or there's the Kool Aid guy popping through the wall. Etc, etc, etc.
