I assumed the girl that named the zombies was the one feeding them. I thought she was treating it like a pet but I am probably wrong.

I think I am out. I really didn't find anything enjoyable this episode really. This one tipped past my gore threshold. I don't see the need really it was gratuitous gore-porn in my view. Coupled with the fact that I really don't like many of the characters much and am really tired of the prison setting, and the fact I did not find anything interesting or enjoyable about this episode I don't see me watching again.

This is the 1st season of Walking Dead I am watching weekly. I finished seasons 1-3 in between this season and the last in a couple of weeks. This is def another show that is much more enjoyable marathon viewing.

This is pretty much true. One person could easily kill 10 zombies a hour without trying very hard. One person could remove 100 zombies per day by standing in the same spot with a hammer. 10 people could remove 1000 zombies per day with little effort. There shouldn't be any zombies at the fence with 40 plus adults.

I don't hate them for it but they could have thought of something better.

Shit, why can't they make those spiked up road blocks that they did for the front gate and just put them, one by one, all along the gate exterior as another form of prevention form just letting a group of zombies put too much pressure on a small portion of gate?

There is no job more important than zombie control, so why they don't have people taking shifts around the clock just to kill the zombies pushing up on the fence? dumb.

Yep. It's not like there's a lot of stuff to entertain themselves, anyway. The nonchalant attitude to the zombies weakening the fences was ridiculous.

Common-sense problems aside, I really liked this episode. I think they're fleshing out these characters better than prior seasons did. And the makeup dept. continues to do to top-notch work.

Did Tyrese's girl die from being sick or was she killed by someone? I was assuming that she died from being sick and they burned the body but the preview made it seem like someone just straight up killed the two sick people.

There was a blood trail from the cell to where Tyrese found the bodies. Looks like she was killed and dragged to the spot.

My take on things are that each person has a job to do. Obviously we do not see or know what other choirs others are handling each day. They have mentioned needing such and such to help at the fence that day.

It would make more sense to add more people to the fence since there seems to be more and more zombies showing up every day. But I think the writers are trying to emphasize the amount of zombies coming each day.

I have no issues with this episode as I feel it was perfectly fine. The zombies were not much of an issue last season, but they have changed that from the get go this season. Add in the problem of a possible deadly flu outbreak and a person working against the group. The season is being set of with plenty of issues along with the eventual return of the governor.

Since I don't believe anyone's brought it up in the thread yet:

I'm pretty sure Maggie's days are now numbered. Glenn takes a photo of her sleeping that - I'm guessing - he'll be staring at and crying over when Maggie is offed at some point during the season. Of course, that's good news for Herschel and Beth, since they'll probably be sticking around.

They should have a truck rigged up with a plow or something to go out and run over zombies when they get too concentrated in one area. It might not kill them, but would certainly break legs/arms. Zombies that are limited to crawling around on the ground won't put pressure on the fences, and can be finished off whenever there is downtime.

You haven't been watching very long, have you? The supply of gasoline is unlimited.

I would think a 10 hour shift splitting skulls would start to seem like more than a little effort after an hour or two. I would also start to worry about the mental health of the people doing it for 10 hours a day.

Where do the Zombies go that they stab thru the fence? They should just pile up in front of the fence slowly rotting away creating another problem when the pile gets higher and higher.

Yep, it's a zombie show. They won't show 10 minutes of someone cleaning the jail cells, someone else counting the food, etc. By now they understand their audience. They need to show some action/gore/zombie killing each episode. Remember Season 2?

I really don't expect great writing from the show. They are limited by the theme. They just need to keep us entertained and so far they are doing a great job.

If I would see that many zombies coming towards the fence I would scream Holy Shit and sound the alarm and then go down and kill zomibes for the next couple hours. A couple people could have killed them off rather quickly and not just kill a zombie or two and then have idle chit chat. Then they could have had their bacon!

The bodies would pile up rather quick this way. Creating another problem.

I think we all got that impression from last week's preview. I was expecting them to show that in this episode.

The problem there is that whomever put the rat through the fence could reach high enough to feed it directly into the walker's mouth...so unless she's down there with a ladder, the little girl is a red herring. I suspect it's someone on the inside working for the Governor (perhaps...but not necessarily...the same person burning the bodies).
