This was my 2nd most anticipated show this Fall next to Hawaii Five-O. Can't wait to see this Friday night. I hope it does well.

Awesome debut episode! I'm already hooked
Selleck and Wahlberg were both solid. Loved the opening scene with Frank's speech at the NYPD Recruit graduation at MSG. Tom Selleck has such a commanding presence onscreen. Very good choice to be the Police Commissioner.
Right off the bat it feels like a New York City show and I give them credit for actually filming the show there.
Overall, I liked the case of the week and I loved the interactions among the family members. Sunday dinner was a disaster.
But, what raised my eye brow was Jamie being recruited by the FBI to investigate the "Blue Templar" society and his brother being murdered because he was working for the Feds. Now, that is a very cool way to mix case of the week and a serialized arc. Not surprised that Jamie didn't confide in his father and tell him about the operation.
*** BTW, it was nice to see Leonard Goldberg's name as EP. If your familiar at all with him, he produced alot of classic 70's and 80's TV shows like Starsky and Hutch, Fantasy Island, Hart to Hart and TJ Hooker. I read that he was actually the one who pitched Blue Bloods to CBS and then hired Green and Burgess from The Sopranos to create the characters.
Pilot gets an A from me. Looking forward to next week.

I was also very pleasantly surprised.
For a pilot, I thought it was extremely well done.

Ok..I watched it online this afternoon. Not bad.....will definitely give it another viewing next week.
If the lack of discussion here is any indication of ratings for this show, we may not have to worry about watching it much longer.

Similar to what The Good Wife did with Peter's storyline, I think the "Blue Templar" story arc with Jamie will be a recurring theme throughout this season in addition to the cases of the week. It does seem that they are doing more than just making it a by the numbers procedural, especially with the Reagan family interactions.

The lack of discussion on most procedurals is pretty common here. Most people here watch and like most Cop shows like this, but just don't feel like talking about it. ....unless there is smoke monsters, aliens and alternate universes involved...or chicks with big boobs then the masses will come out here at TV talk
Anyways, I like the start of the show and look forward to the rest of the season. It's nice to see a Friday night show do well.

It was the highest rated show on Friday night 12.8M viewers and 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic. If it retains even close to those numbers next Friday, it will definitely be considered a hit.

On the flip side, there's some who think every tv show is great.
Lets be a little realistic...the premiere was okay, but nothing to write home about and I'm one who rarely posted in Lost threads.

Fine, so the next 4-5 shows I go through, I'm going to say they suck balls, just so it doesn't look like I'm horrendously biased or seem way too easy to please. Just so my opinions balance out.
But, seriously I am pretty easily entertained. The only new shows that I really didn't care for so far were Chase and Outlaw. It has to be really really bad for me to hate it.

I didn't catch this until the Saturday repeat, but enjoyed it quite a bit. The extra twist at the end was just a bonus.

Really good pilot episode. It flew by. Very interested in the direction the show will take in upcoming episodes.

Ok show. Nothing special. Always wondered why Selleck never did a Magnum reunion movie. I know early on, he wanted to do a theatrical, but wanted too much money, but with his career so mezzo mezzo the last decade or so, I did wonder why it never happened. And yes, I know Higgins is dead.

Looking forward to the 2nd episode. Sitting in Columbus currently waiting on a delayed plane. I was hoping to be in Olrando on time today. I am glad this show is in the 10:00 time slot. I should be comfortable in my hotel room by the time this comes on tonight.

not done watching yet, but the way they put the samaritan's picture out there screamed a bit of stupidity as it makes him a huge target of the thugs at that point

I haven't decided if I like this show or not. I like the people in it, but it's just hasn't grabbed me. There's really nothing about it that stands out from any other cop show to me. Same thing about Detroit 1-8-7.

I've given this show a season pass but i hope we don't get a morality debate every week between Walberg and his lawyer sister.
