Re: Blue Bloods (CBS) -- Series Thread

Yeah I still watch the show, but that episode a few weeks back about some priest not telling Frank the name of a child abductor who confessed to having kidnapped him had me vent over how fucktart religious people are. And Frank's dad giving him shit because the priest's word was more important than giving him the name of the abductor, FFS.

Not sure where they are going with the Janko and Jaime relationship, they are a cute couple

I still watch this - it's kind of a TV version of comfort food I guess. It has it's ups and downs but overall is a solid show with a solid cast.

They have good chemistry and they've never really done much with him on a personal level so that's fine with me. I'm a bit tired of the family issues with Dany.

Re: Blue Bloods (CBS) -- Series Thread

Danny's wife Linda was officially killed off the show tonight.

Here's her goodbye note. It was all over Facebook after the East coast airing, so I saw it by accident. Damn, that's shocking and sad.

on the other hand, I think with time they may want to play up a potential thing with Danny and Baez.

Crap, kinda wish I would have watched the episode before clicking on this thread. Oh well, don't really care that much about spoilers.

What was the reason for her leaving? I thought I had forgotten something about the finale. Lol

It was a combination of creative and trimming series regular salary. The show is 8 years old now and getting more expensive to make.

Decent opener, and yeah her death is moving Dany to new grounds.

Good opener but Linda's death really didn't have much impact for me as she has hardly been seen for the last few seasons anyway

Re: Blue Bloods (CBS) -- Series Thread

ah crap, I'm getting caught up on last season and read too far in this thread. Oh well by the time I get around to the beginning of this season I'll likely forget that plot point

Re: Blue Bloods (CBS) -- Series Thread

This season, the political commissioner stuff has become unbearable and too forced. The Danny stuff is the best and is the only reason i keep watching, quite exciting storylines

The jaime and eddie stuff is also ok. The rest of the family is a bit blah

Erin stuff is ok in small doses

Re: Blue Bloods (CBS) -- Series Thread

I'm still a fan of the show but it's not as good as the early seasons. I prefered when there was a season narrative. I like Jaime and Eddie best, hope they finally hook-up. I like Erin too but the grandpa stuff is really lame.

Re: Blue Bloods (CBS) -- Series Thread

I'm behind on this show. S7 on Hulu with ads and Netflix no ads. I knew about wife's death. Never cared for her OR Danny. Danny is what's wrong with many Cops. He is the kind of TV/Movie Bad Boy cop they see and try to emulate in real life and gets people fucked up even though they try to show him as Bad Boy with a Heart of Gold. He's cliche and boring.

Heh.

Possible Blue Bloods spinoff mentioned by a Paramount executive at shareholder meeting.

I recognize that this show is mostly geared towards an audience which I don't identify with, but I've always enjoyed it as a basic procedural. This past week's episode had a single phrase that pretty much soured the whole show for me. Why they thought putting in that throw-away line was a good idea is beyond me. It was at the dinner table scene they have every week, and the show even had the whole table laugh after the grandfather said it.

That struck me as notably stupid. But I'm also a lefty who has a strange soft spot for the show as a procedural, like you, so I definitely wasn't the audience for the comment.
