I was actually interested in the lunch box for our kid but my wife wasn't all that excited about it.

The boneless ribs idea, though, is excellent. I hope that really takes off for him (and the rest of us!).

I think Cuban was on the money that the technology will move much faster than the VR treadmill they have ready to go. Plus, do those brackets and the belt really support more overweight players? They didn't say anything about the capacity.

The New Jersey moms? If you're going to be that snarky in trying to sell your idea to a potential business partner? Yeah, I don't think so.

I think we had a first last night with the ugly sweater guys selling the same stupid animal hood as the Spirit Hoods guys last week. I kinda wish one of them had pointed it out, but I guess they couldn't, not knowing what order all of these were being shot in.

That star topper was horrible. All that build up, and.....that's it??? That was a really awkward ending too, with Daymond taking the deal, and the guy handing him his hat and just walking off like he'd lost.

I'm just glad noboby entertained that inane bouncey thing. Those are everywhere, so you're basically paying some dude to yell at your kids. rotfl Just hire a personal trainer for your chubby kid. ;)

"Crap on a stick" is being generous, Mr. Wonderful. I already have a piece of tape on the camera.

Cubes and Mr. Wonderful on the double team rape. rotfl I figured that couple was just in for the 'commercial' time. I didn't get the product myself.

Love how they all salivated over the wall thing. Great product.

That picture deal made no sense. They basically made competition for themselves.

Yeah, one of the worst products ever. Sad thing is he'll probably sell a bunch after tonight.

That Groovebook segment was pretty intense. I erupted with laughter when he countered Kevin's $750K with a $6 million dollar offer.

Their subscription model was absolutely insane though. They'll never make big money profiting 70 cents a book. They probably could have gotten a very similar base selling the books for $5 a month and tripled their profit.

The idea was great, but I could easily see them overwhelmed with the demand that they're about to get.

My gf signed up for groove book while the segment was still on. The price is great for customers; crappy for them.

After that segment, my wife and I had a laugh over putting a post-it note over our laptop's camera. Problem solved.

Yeah, that webcam cover is one of the most ridiculous things ever presented on any of these "inventor" shows, and there has been a lot of dross over the years. The problem of webcam hacking is a serious one, but his $10 plastic clip is not a legit solution.

Robert could hardly refuse the pathologist's offer after the man practically supplicated in front of him. He's more accustomed to being treated as a fifth wheel and getting peeved.
I can't believe those last people took the offer from Cuban/Douche rather than the one from Lori/Robert.

I was glad to hear those nut-butter guys are doing well, considering they've created local, not overseas, jobs.

The Eyebloc went from #55 in it's department on Amazon last night to being #8. No such thing as bad publicity.

The Groove Book is a great idea. Their ability to make the price point so low is great. What isn't great is their profit margins and the deal this took. Both deals on the table were terrible. They should have just walked away from the table.

The dry wall thing was great. I like that we almost got a crybaby Robert moment.

My mom bought a special 'wallet' to store her credit cards in so 'thieves' can't 'wand' her purse and get all her info.

There are consumers for these stupid products.

Eyebloc was awesome. I lol'd when he said that he's selling 1 a day on Amazon.

I could see it selling ridiculous numbers at $3 each.

On the other hand, I've got a hole in my wall, and if when that "patching system" is available (particularly at that price), I'll buy it.

CNBC is reairing Season One on Tuesday nights.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101229255

The first episode had the most ridiculous product I've ever seen on the show. It was a bluetooth headset that would be surgically implanted in the side of your head. You would charge it by sticking the power cord into your ear. He was asking for $1 Million. The sharks couldn't stop laughing through the entire pitch.

Piss off, Superman. I'm just charging my Bluetooth.

I thought this was one of the best episodes in a while.

The Groove Book pitch was really fun to watch - everyone was so excited about it and there were a lot of interesting deals. In the end they got screwed though.

Once they heard Marc talking about the potential to license the service, they should have realized that's where all the upside potential is and focused their deal in that direction. The proprietary groove and shipping angle is where all the value was, although their service is pretty cool too. In the end though I fear they basically just sold 80% of their business for a measly $150k.

Eyebloc was funny, 45 units. He didn't drown because he was able to joke about it. I liked his quip that the demo units were already sold on Amazon.

The other really good pitch was the Wall Doctor thing. Again, I think he took the worst deal. The licensing potential was much more attractive and Robert is just going to own that thing internationally while he struggles to work two jobs handling North America by himself. Damon and the others were also offering twice the money. Crazy.

That groove book is an amazing deal, 2.99 shipped for 100 pics is a great deal.

Agree on the walll dr, thought he took the worst deal...

It's a great deal...but no idea how they will ever make money.

Yeah Robert essentially explained they just developed competition.the money to be made was in the patent of the ridge. Subscription services was a non starter at 2.99

As silly as it is, I could see Eyebloc as one of those cheapie vendor-branded 'swag' items they give away at conferences and tradeshows... most of that stuff is mildly useful crap anyway.

The Wall Doctor didn't seem to really understand what he was agreeing to. He kept saying he liked Robert's deal because he had always hoped to expand into international markets, but now he won't make a cent from it (unless I'm the one misunderstanding the deal).

Noonan 01-13-14 12:54 PM

Re: Shark Tank (ABC) -- Series Thread Part II

The money he'll make is from the international sales Robert produces. Robert will buy the product from him at the same cost as other resellers/distributors. From the sounds of it, Robert will keep all profits he makes from re-selling the product at the higher MSRP.
