Yeah, I agree that the DECIDE NOW, THIS SECOND, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT thing is bullshit. I'd tell Robert that "You're out. I don't want to partner up with someone who plays games with me like that."

Too bad the sock people didn't have Daymond on, he would have been a perfect partner for them.

That's an "Editing" issue, and really not at the control of "The Sharks" -the segments we see that form the episode may run far longer than we see and may not have been filmed in the order we see them.

The destruction of the FoHawk women was one of the more brutal presentations I've seen on Shark Tank. They were all absolutely right, because the women just didn't have a clue how meager their business really was, but it was just done in such a tactless way. The blonde fighting back probably did her more harm than good, especially since she didn't seem interested in any criticism they had.

Yeah, I think the only reason the FoHawk women made it this far was so the Sharks could eat them alive.

I want to try some of those ribs. I think the play is get into the restaurants through licensing, then continue to sell the guys ribs in the store, with whatever restaurant's name on them that licenses the ribs. He'd get the name brand recognition from the restaurant to sell more in store, then the money from actual restaurant sales. Win/win

The ribs looked awesome. I love "easy" food products like this, but historically they have been poor quality. I like that more gourmet options are starting to become available. I would definitely check it out.

I also loved seeing the Omni VR treadmill - I had no idea they were going on Shark Tank. That is some pretty big exposure for the Rift and associated technologies. I was also impressed they didn't totally destroy that guy, but I'm glad they didn't. While the cost is still high, it was less than they thought, and I think overall the technology impressed them. Whether or not Mark's assessment of this stuff only appealing to a niche of the still relatively niche gaming market remains to be seen.

The FoHawk women was awkward. Haven't seen a pitch that awkward since they made a women recount her history of substance abuse on national TV before stating none of them were interested and sending her on her way. I don't know why some people defend their products like that. They weren't even that harsh on the FoHawks, just saying they are pricey for what they are.

I think he was pretty accurate. Do you see your average gamer getting in that thing to play CoD? Most can't be bothered to move their hands around with the Wii, let alone actually running to move.

I would love to have that thing for exercise purposes alone. No, I would not play on it the majority of the time. However, a quick 30-45 minute gaming session a day of sprints like that while playing COD would be amazing. However, it looked very awkward to run on. The idea is great though. I also was happy to see Mark talking up the Rift. It almost seemed like a paid plug how much he knew about it.

Mark was right about the VR treadmill. It serves a niche market within a niche market. I just can't see it selling much even if the Oculus Rift is a huge hit. It's definitely cool though. I think their best bet might be getting the thing in Dave and Buster's.

A lot of people say the same thing when they buy treadmills for their home. "I can use it every night while I watch TV!" How many of those do you think get used after the first week?

Yeah, that's probably going to end up being the most logical play for the tech. They should just lease or sell them to arcades and other entertainment focused businesses. I could see the experience being a real hit. Probably a bit much to ask your average person to pay for something like that though - I actually think the biggest issue is just its physical size.

I think the Rift will be pretty successful, but it's too early to say whether this submarket of VR products has any viability.

I used the kickstarted Rift for the first time the other day, after that you wouldn't have to pay me a cent to talk it up. Thing is phenomenal.

The problem with the Omni is that it came off so much cooler as a complete package with the Rift and the gun. Robert was freaking out more over the Rift than anything else.

The price is probably going to be a dealbreaker for a lot of people. Especially when the "accessory" to the product ($400) costs more than the actual product ($300.)

I see your point, but those treadmills still keep getting bought. The treadmill's problem is the monotony. I think if you disguise exercise, it works better. No one considers playing pickup basketball with your friends "exercise." Now play a pickup game on here.

I do not see it as any more than a niche product, but it is one I would be interested in. Also, the floor space is a lot less than a treadmill.

I think that product is about 3-6 years ahead of its time. But I think by the end of the current gaming generation, we'll be seeing Microsoft selling it the way they sold Kinnect at the end of the last generation.

I think what would ruin it would be his emphasis on microwaving the product. I assume he patented the process for deboning the ribs and not just the concept of deboned ribs.

well i doubt they are going to be microwaving them at a restaurant. i think that's just for the home consumer. and it did sound like the process of actually removing the ribs was part of the patented process.

I liked the barbecue guy, and hope he's successful. The virtual-reality device also looked like it had potential, but it's kind of like the Segway. Either people will embrace it or it'll die a slow death.

The thing about the VR device is it's overpriced and not really high tech in and of itself. The Oculus Rift itself is amazing, if that was what they were pitching you could guarantee they would have made their deal. As for a treadmill with no movable parts for $500 that requires a $300 accessory to really use? Yeah not so much.
