Shark Tank (ABC) -- Series Thread Part II

SEASON PREMIERE
CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED, BUSINESS-THEMED "SHARK TANK" RETURNS TO ABC FOR SEASON 5, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20
Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner Go Head to Head for the First Time Ever
"Shark Tank" is back for a fifth season, with the Sharks continuing the search to invest in the best businesses and products that America has to offer. In 2013 "Shark Tank" received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Reality Program and won the Summer TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming. The Season Premiere, "Episode 504," airs FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
In the Premiere, Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner will go head to head for the first time ever. Two guys from Dallas, TX hope to bring a little sweetness to the masses with their savory cake balls; two doctors who are also brothers from Tucson, AZ, claim they have a social media cure for the old-school communication between patients and medical professionals; two sisters-in-law from Firecrest, WA pitch their business for gourmet pickles made from a 100-year-old family recipe; and a tech-savvy entrepreneur from Los Angeles, CA has a mobile app that allows a modern way to send a traditional postcard. Also, an update on Tracy Noonan and Danielle Desroches from Cohasset, MA and their Wicked Good Cupcakes business, which Kevin O'Leary invested in during Season 4.
The Sharks in this episode of "Shark Tank" are Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec and Kevin O'Leary.
Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin are the executive producers of "Shark Tank," which is based on the Japanese "Dragons' Den" format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
"Shark Tank" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format with stereo sound. This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
For more information on "Shark Tank," visit ABC.com.
Season Premiere is Friday night on ABC. The other thread is 4 years old and almost 1,000 posts deep. I think it's time for an update.
Started watching the show in the spring, got hooked. Have been DVRing repeats all summer long. Love it. Favorite new reality show.

Yeah, the show is pretty good. In fact, I just stopped by Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some Scrub Daddies this morning. As if Lori needed more money. But the product works!

Always look forward to Shark Tank.
Hopefully they push more products this year that aren't food related. It seemed last season everything was some sort of online food delivery.

Love this show, mostly because of Kevin and Mark Cuban. I agree about the food crap. Too much if it last year.

So what items have you guys purchased that were on the show? I've bought:
- Mission Belt. I love it.
- Buggy Beds. We stayed at a camp and thought we got bed bugs. We put these under our own bed at home, but nothing showed up (phew!). I can't say if it worked or not, obviously, but it was cheap.
- Copa da Vino? Something like that. The single-serving wine thing. The wine was okay. Nothing special. I kept the plastic glasses for awhile, but threw them out a few weeks ago.

and as a viewer you want to be able to 'play along' and decide what will and won't sell. That's hard to do when you can't try the food they're trying to sell.
I also purchased the Mission Belt. It's awesome. I'm wearing it right now actually.

The first time I put it on, I made it way too tight and had a REALLY hard time figuring out how to unlatch it. It was worsened by the fact that I really had to piss.
Now, though, I have zero problems. I had to lend it to my brother on his wedding night (he forgot his belt). He had troubles undoing it at first, too.

For those interested in the Mission Belt... it's a great belt and in order to take it off, push it in a little and pull it out.

We've only purchased the scrub daddy. I considered the mission belt, but I wear a belt so infrequently, that sort of talked me out of purchasing one.

I have often wondered why he is still on the show. He never wants to invest in anything. I think I only remember him investing once in the time I watched it last year. Maybe it was more than that, but it's not very often.

He also likes partnering up with one of the other sharks, when he does invest. Dude's careful with his money. Maybe that's why he's rich!

It's funny how Robert rarely makes any investments let alone a solo investment.
It seems like 8 times out of 10, he says no.
I agree with pretty much everyone here, I want to see less food investments and more creative stuff.

I think the only thing I have purchased was the scrub daddy. I still mostly use regular sponges.

A facebook/twitter for medical advice sounds brilliant.

BTW,
Anyone here ever watch Dragon's Den? The Canadian version that came before this? Pretty decent stuff.
