Cuban was being a total dick regarding the Paparazzi guy and his company. I was annoyed at how he kept interrupting Lori. Honestly, I don't think he got a very good deal.

I was pleased to see the Rabbi and his Ipad invention work out. He got a good licensing deal from that.

Robert really needs to drop his whiny little bitch attitude when someone doesn't immediately take his offer. I knew the second the paparazzi guy wanted to talk to Lori first, how Robert was going to respond.

Robert's offer was better, and Lori potentially brought more to the table. I don't think it was unreasonable to try to negotiate both. Especially when the dollar amount was so small (50K from each.) But no, Robert had to pitch his little shitfit (Oh, I'm not good enough for you?)

And yeah, something must have happened to piss Mark off like that. He seemed unusually surly, even for him.

That type of product is what these sharks love. Cheap, inexpensive junk that sells like hotcakes, made cheaply by slave labor and sold for 100x their production value.

Exactly.:grumble: On the Canadian Dragon's Den, there's more of a sense of ethical investing, not merely a "let's squeeze every last penny out of this investment, regardless of whether or not this tchotchke is made by 12-year-olds in Vietnam".

Not necessarily. As you know, Kevin is Canadian, appears on both shows, and is a first-class asshole (or at least impresses as one on TV). Moreover, Robert was on Dragon's Den for several years, but was apparently paid more on Shark Tank, or whatever the case is, because he decamped D.D. for S.T., and now neither Kevin nor Robert ever make any reference to their Canadianness, which may be in the contract with ABC.
Odd that ABC would pick two Canadians for the panel and demand of or suggest to them to never make a reference to their homeland. For example, on S.T., Robert often says, "When I came to this country...", obviously alluding dishonestly to the States. During his stint on D.D., he became emotional during a number of pitches when he talked about everything Canada had done for him as a refugee from Croatia, or wherever he came from. This makes him a bit of a treacherous loser in my book. Principles dropped for the almighty buck.

The amazing difference is how they allow them to talk on the CBC version. rotfl I've seen the UK Dragon's Den on BBCA.

Not true. My gf got me one last Christmas as a gag gift and it works pretty well. It fits within the speaker cutout in my case. I'm sure it won't work with all cases but it definitely works with some. I use it whenever I'm playing a game.

Kind of how like America's got talent was judged by British and Canadians before they got Howard Stern. Robert did talk about Canada sometimes. They did a whole segment where they went to Canada's largest outdoor supply store for the bbq studs that marks how well done the meats are.

Not 100% sure, but I think that may have been the first Tank episode where nobody made a deal.

You knew the second that Robert made an offer, and the girls turned to Lori and Mark instead, that they were going to pay the price for it.

Stupid product and I agree that no one is going to buy some random schmoe's photos. Plus as mentioned you can get into so much trouble trying to sell off photos with unauthorized images and likeness'.

As for those 2 sisters, some of the sharks have been kind of pushy with if you don't take my offer now, I'm out. Robert has been that way a few times this season.

Robert was a douche. I did like Cuban yammering on and on about Lori.

I'd like to try that slaw thing. Kroger bought out Harris Teeter, so hopefully I see it on the shelf at my HT market. That person needed Barbara on the panel. As did the gift box people. 2 female oriented products.

The photo thing was beyond stupid.

When the photo app guys said they had 0 sales and valued their company over $3m, they were dead.

I liked the slaw lady. I respect the way she handles her business and stayed out of debt without taking a salary. I hope we get an update on her in the future. Hope her product takes off from the exposure here.

The photo thing seemed fine to me. Cafepress does $40-$50 million in revenues per quarter. I'd want to know how the app guys are being paid, but there's definitely money to be made there.

I thought the surprise box thing had a lot of potential, but their valuation was way too high. At first, I thought they were in it just for the exposure and expected to walk out without a deal, but after the way they melted down when Robert withdrew his offer, I'm not sure.

I think the problem with the slaw is that it was pretty obvious from the shark's reactions that none of them liked the taste. And I don't think the packaging or name really does it any favors.

He came across as a real dick in this one. Those sock people are killing it with their product; they didn't need the money and just wanted a strategic partner. Why on earth would they choose someone being an asshole to work with?

I wish someone coming into the tank would rip Robert a new one when he does that. I'd be telling him "Well, I'd hope you wouldn't want to work with someone who didn't explore all their options before making a decision" and if he fired back with that "well, you sometimes have to make snap judgments", I'd respond with "I don't want to risk my company with someone so impulsive."

This whole idea that taking time to think about an offer is toxic is NOT the way good business deals work, and those sharks should be ashamed of themselves for treating people like that, when it's more likely they're not really interested in the first place. It's good TV, but it's a bad education for potential up and comers out there.

That said, the sock couple knew exactly who and what they wanted and got it. Good for them.

I thought this was a great episode. My issue was more with the lunchbox people who managed to talk their way out of a 15% deal into a 20% deal for the same money and then celebrated about it. Granted, they could get it down to 10%, but I have a feeling that prob doesn't happen.

I also loved Mr. Wonderful offering the chocolate guy 500K to dump his business and come work for him.

I think the show's producers are instigating some of these behaviors from behind the scenes. This show is more about earning ratings than getting the best business deals. What Robert has been doing ups the drama for television, much like Cuban's shot-clock offers from last season. The sharks are now prodding certain offers, hoping to see them crumble under the pressure on television. It's a highly artificial method that mostly doesn't exist in the real world of most businesses.

I get what you're saying, but it's not really dramatic when Robert pulls that crap with ten minutes left in the show, since at that moment you know they aren't taking his deal.

BTW, I did also like Mark pulling back the curtain a little during the lunchbox deal when Lori claimed she could get them with Disney and he chimed in with "You just got national exposure on Shark Tank. ANY of us can get you with Disney now."
