I'm pretty sure he was interested because, if the product fails, he liked that the woman had an intuitive understanding of Chinese manufacturing. He also said something about it when he made his offer.

Yea. Easy outdoor meals is the only thing I could think of. Even then, I'd rather eat some veggies and jerky than screw with steaming vegetables and whatever.

Kinda bummed the Off the Cob guy didn't get an offer. It's a really unique concept and really shone a light on the tortilla market. That was some interesting stuff.
O'Leary was a total douche to the Kitchen Safe guy. I don't see a need for it, but if there is any truth to his testimonials, then there is a real market for such a device. My question, which wasn't discussed, is what happens when the battery dies? What if the battery dies while locked? $50 for a single container though is absurd.

And I agree about O'Leary being way to harsh to the safe guys. But they are dreaming if they think that product will sell gangbusters at $50 bucks a pop. 10 bucks maybe but 50? Hell, they said they would be lucky to get the manufacturing cost down to $10. Price is their death knell.
I was thinking that the entire episode. For the price of investing in one business, he got massive free exposure for GoPro. I liked the song-and-dance over QVC versus HSN. If this show really wanted to pit sharks, get a HSN person to go up against Lori.
I've never minded Mr. Wonderful's blunt talk, but this season feels like he's just being mean for the sake of it.

I LOVE the idea of having an HSN person square off on the show. Awesome idea. And I totally agree with you last comment. Seems if you catch O'Leary or Cuban on a bad day, they just become ranting assholes.

I imagine they are encouraged to go on the occasional rant by Shark Tank's producers. There are entire categories of products that Cuban seems to hate with a passion.

With the Kitchen Safe and the 'no override' statement, all I could keep picturing is a sitcom-like scene where a toddler puts his dad's wallet or phone in the safe (or maybe tickets to some pricey event) and sets it for 2 days just screwing around pressing buttons.

at that wine valuation. And $2.99 per serving. Has to be $1/serving or less like a case of beer.
Kevin was completely right about Costco.

I didn't think $3 was terrible either. You can get a 12 pack of soda for $3-$5 but 20oz bottles sell for $1.50-$2 just fine.
Also $3 allows you to try different wines on the cheap vs. buying a bottle and hating it.

You can't compare it to coffee or energy drinks. Compare it to beer. And you're buying that by the case - like beer. I guess there are some brown baggers (whinos are buying Mad Dog, like Cuban alluded to) but I don't see them buying these. It's a perfect Costco product.

Mark got a good deal with the female sports apparel. Once he gets an NBA license and can sell Mavs female oriented clothes at Mavs home games and the gift shop, he's going to make a killing on them. And that's in addition to the college licensed clothes and more schools that could be added. His Mavs gift shop can also sell Texas oriented schools as well like Baylor, UT-Austin etc.

Cuban was definitely the right partner for the athletic wear, although the wise-ass in me really wishes that when they heard his contingency, one of them had the presence of mind to say something like "Mark, I can't make you Mavs clothes if we don't have the license. Do you have any contacts in that organization?"

They need to big time marketing shift though that shows off how multi purpose the thing can be. They also need to get that price down about 50%, something I'm sure the Sharks will be able to help with.

Exactly.
What I can't get over ... is how appealing a disposable wine cup will be to the consumer. Maybe I'm too up my own ass about how wine should be enjoyed.

Last year, I went on a business trip to Mexico. There was a safe in the closet, and the front had a key pad. The thing was powered by 4 AA batteries. I had to use it to lock up some personal items (tablet, passport, etc.). Well, after a single day, the battery in the safe died. In this particular case, the lock dis-engaged before the battery was fully drained, and instead of allowing any key presses on the pad, it just displayed "BATTLOW."
Point is... I'm sure the Kitchen Safe works exactly the same way.

Just started watching this season buy the sharks alluded to a different guy selling single serve wine before. The new guy had a proprietary lid that made it unique as well as a fancy label and super durable plastic.

Ah okay. Sounds like the new guy managed to work around the other guy's patent (from what I recall, it seemed like the original guy was the only one who could do it at the time), so of course the sharks would jump on a competing product. They REALLY hated the original guy. He came back a second time, pretty much just to gloat.

He didn't work around it. He went to the actual patent holder, someone in France, and basically learned the original guy was just licensing it from him.

You're buying a cold soda out of a vending machine for convenience. Who does that with wine except for the whinos who buy Mad Dog at 7-11. Again, you should not compare this to soda/water/energy drinks. Compare it to beer. This is something that will be sold by the case (or multi-pack). Or I can see it in hotel mini-bars, sports venues (particularly since it's plastic), and on airplanes (who obviously are buying it by the case).
