That's AWESOME. I can't be sure, but I feel like watching both on the same night, regardless of order, makes Dexter seem that much worse (and it's already a not great final season).

Yeah, a few of us have learned to watch Breaking Bad after Dexter, otherwise the night ends on a down note. I check out The Newsroom last because of timing, which is closer to Dexter than to Breaking Bad.

Did Brock's mother die of a drug overdose?

No. Jesse had been giving her and Brock money since he ended the relationship in the earlier part of Season 5A.

I can kind of see Hank being a small factor in Walt's turn but I don't really think he's to blame that much. I mean sure Hank exposed Walt to his first taste maybe by getting him to go on a ride along and he may have been a bit envious of the attention that Walt Jr. gave him since Hank was the cool uncle and Walt is (was) a nice guy but sort of lame at the start of the series. Still though I don't think that ultimately Hank had a lot to do with it. It was more a culmination of a lot of things I think. Mid-life crisis, not living up to the expectations he had set for himself, probably not making a lot working as a teacher, the stress of having a son with cerebral palsy, a pregnant wife, and cancer was just the final nail in the coffin.

This is one of the best Dexter seasons in a few years. How could you not be enjoying it? The pacing is stellar. Gonna be sad to see both BB and Dex leave my lexicon

How can anybody jump into this show without starting at the beginning?

believe me, i've been asking myself that for some time. my conclusion is that im just glad she got on board at all and not missing some damn fine television programming. she's pretty intune and gets some, but sometimes it is exhausting talking to her over the phone about stuff. explaining this episode "Confessions" was definitely a chore, but this thread was aces when it came to explaining it all...

i told her to buy a Blu-ray player and then she can borrow my seasons. she might eventually. i streamed the 1st ep. for her via Netflix and she was in awe.

i told her now she has to see where it all began...

I can't imagine jumping into Breaking Bad in Season 5A. Hell, if the series were canceled at the end of Season 4 it would have been a borderline satisfactory ending.

Yeah, i'd just ignore her and not explain anything at all.

Does she have Netflix, or at least the ability to use streaming? If so she could blow through the seasons pretty quickly on Watch Instantly.

I don't really get why people say the show could have ended on season four's finale satisfactorily to be honest. I mean it was a good wrap up to the overall arc of seasons three and four but it's obvious the show wasn't ready to end there yet. To me if that had been the case it would have felt like we got a beginning and middle but no real end.
