What even implied/hinted it was in the future?

Declan mentioned that. He said that if Heisenberg didn't want to come back, then that's fine with him.

That's what I was looking for!

Thanks!

I mean, I know that Lydia is crazy, but she just started a war.

Yeah. Mike was certainly on the money about her if she was willing to do that so soon. As well as try to kill him so soon after he refused to kill his guys.

Well as we know, she did try to get Walt back.

I don't think Jesse has ever cooked under Madrigal. IIRC, Jesse was out after they killed the boy. The Madrigal deal didn't take place until a little bit after. As far as Lydia knows, it was only Todd that Walt cooked with.

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Buried" -- 8/18/13

Two questions (spoilers):

1. How does Saul know Mike is dead?

2. Does Jesse know Mike is dead, or does he just suspect it?

Seems like a very plausible story that Mike got away with his "escape kit" and just disappeared. Only Walt and Todd know he's dead, because they gave him an "acid bath".

1. Saul knows because Jesse told him in the last episode.

2. He has no solid proof but he just knows.

Mike doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would escape. Mike is the kind of guy that would go hard after Walt.

That wasn't her. From the Breaking Bad wiki:

Walt and Jesse Pinkman standby as Mike Ehrmantraut threatens Lydia Rodarte-Quayle. He forces her to call the DEA to sort out the GPS's origins, threatening her life if she cries or arouses Hank's suspicions in any way. Listening into Hank's phone communications, the GPS trackers were revealed not to be the work of the Albuquerque DEA field office....just as Mike approaches her, the bug picks up a call from the Houston field office confirming to Hank that they placed GPS tracking devices on the outside, rather than inside, of all the methylamine barrels.

That was Todd's crew... kind of. I imagine his uncle is the general boss there. Todd's importance to the meth game increased 10 fold when Heisenberg retired and put all his knowledge in Todd's head.
Thanks guys, I remember now.

I also enjoyed this episode when Walt is looking over his money in the back of the van and says it's "close enough" while giving a knowing glance to Saul's guys.

I think all this "Hank knows" stuff is going to be a red herring. The real danger is Lydia, Todd, and Todd's uncle.

Funny how Walt got into this all for the money, but turned down Elliott's offer to help. Even after that, Walt had several chances where he could have walked away. He seems so sure that he's "out" now, but if the others won't accept that, is it really his choice?

How many of Mike's guys in prison would have been able to offer Hank more evidence than Gabe's handwritten W.W. notes?

I think the theme of this series is Walt's ego and in the end it will be what gets him. It's what prevented him from taking "charity" from Elliott, it's what Lydia used to save her life and start the Czech business, and it's what stopped him from selling out for 5 million at the end of last season.

As far as the "nine"? At least one knew Walt by sight, the owner of the laundry.

If Lydia was smart, she would have approached Jesse to cook before Todd. Wouldn't have gone anywhere, but still.

It was unclear whether Jesse had asked for Saul or not after being interrogated. It's unclear whether Jesse cares whether he lives, dies, or goes to jail for the rest of his life. Therefore, it would not be so far fetched for Jesse to turn on Walt, particularly if Hank apologizes to Jesse and blames Walt for being the "Marie" phone call that resulted in Hank's ass-kicking of Jesse. As the saying goes, "the enemy of my enemy...."

I definitely agree. Mike would be alive, I think, but he spit on Walt's ego, which is just one example of many throughout the series.

Like other mentioned previously, maybe Lydia forces Walt to cook in his house & he fakes his death to exact revenge in the end.
Yeah after seeing what went down last night, I would be surprised if it was anyone other than Lydia/Todd's crew that Walt confronts with the gun in the flash forwards. Just don't think it would be Hank and the DEA.

I think so too. My prediction is that the house is wrecked because Lydia, Todd, and company go hunt down Walt and do all that damage, with either Walt or Hank taking the family and running, and that's when we see Walt come back for revenge.

great ep. as usual.

and i love how they don't show the preview at the end of the episode. you have to watch Low Winter Sun to see it. brilliant move on AMC part of course, but i love how last week it was noted that it would air during the first commercial break and now "Watch LWS to see next week's preview...".

Love it!!

Another great episode, but I'm sad that my predicted ending won't happen.

I was thinking a storage wars type show would bid on the locker of money.

Did anyone else think it was b.s. how Lydia wanted to be visually shielded from seeing what she had ordered up? How can someone so calculated and cold be so squeamish? And why was she dressed in heels and business professional for a ride to "nowhere"? She is in the wrong business.

i was more interested in how a shell (what i thought was a shotgun shell, why they would use shotguns was beyond me) fell into the lab down below...

I was thinking that she used that as an excuse so she wouldn't be able to recognize any of the people (dead or alive) so she can have some vague form of deniability. But she did already talk and see most of the dead crew, so maybe she really is that squeamish.

Didn't it fall down through a fan vent or something? They have to vent the lab so that seems most likely.

It fell down the vent shaft through the fan. It was not a shotgun shell casing.

I hope somehow Walt and Hank end up working together, as unrealistic as it seems at this point.

It was a brass casing, but there were also spent shotgun shells outside.
