ABC renews Nashville

 The ratings aren't great, but I like the show a lot and Connie Britton.

I know no one here watched it, but NBC cancelled The New Normal. I guess it was too "Gay" for people here?

CBS passed on Beverly Hills Cop. It's going to be shopped elsewhere.

:( Body of Proof cancelled. I'm sad about this one. Not often you see a show with 2 smoking hot middle aged ladies as the leads. The cases were interesting too.

Also, Malibu Country axed as well.

The Middle and Modern Family both renewed. Not that those were surprising.

Surprised that The Neighbors got renewed.

Re: Broadcast Upfronts 2013

ABC also ordered "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" The spinoff for Once Upon a Time

Re: Broadcast Upfronts 2013

Family Tools and How to Live with your Parents also cancelled.

Tim Allen's show Last Man Standing got renewed

Red Widow also got axed.

Not going to mention any more of the new series. The new shows will be covered in the schedule threads next week.

I hear it's going to be called The Chicago Creed

The Neighbors got renewed as it was produced by ABC unlike How to Live With Your Parents which was produced by Fox.

It's a shame NBC cancelled both Go On and The New Normal. I enjoyed Go On, but loved The New Normal.

i am shocked that the star power of Eddie Murphy couldn't get the BHC show automatically picked up. Oh wait, this isn't the 80's.

I pray that this is actually The Office spinoff that everyone wants, where a certain cast member has relocated to Chicago.

BAH.

John Mulaney's sitcom didn't get picked up by NBC.

At this point, NBC could air reruns of Caroline in the City and The Single Guy and they'd get better ratings than the shit they're airing now.

Outside of Sunday Night Football, I don't think I've been interested in watching any of the shows that NBC is broadcasting.

I remember watching repeats of the old Raymond Burr series as a kid. Could be an interesting re-telling. I have to assume it will be a weekly crime procedural.

 sucks for Underwood to commit to a series where he has to sit down the entire time.

Why you don't hire an actual disabled actor is beyond me.

Larry Bird approves of The Neighbor's renewal!

TheKing 05-11-13 07:12 AM

Re: Broadcast Upfronts 2013

Apparently The Neighbors was announced out of turn. The deal for a second season isn't a done deal quite yet.

I'm surprised Go On got axed. But I'm guessing Matthew Perry's paycheck had something to do with that. If someone had said in September that NBC would only renew two comedies, I don't think anybody would have picked Community to be the other show (Parks and Rec was a shoo-in)

With CBS picking up 4 comedies, it would seem like they're adding an hour of comedy on the fall schedule. They only have one open comedy slot at the moment, and they're airing 2 Broke Girls on Wednesday at 8, so it's possible they're doing it as a test. Other possibilities would be shifting NCIS to 9, LA to 10 and putting the comedies on Tuesday, or expanding the Thursday comedies to the 9PM hour. Then again there's always Fridays at 8.

Two of the CBS comedies are single camera shows (including David E. Kelley's new show with Robin Williams), which I'm guessing would mean they'll be the new comedy hour. I think the last single camera that CBS tried was Worst Week, which was like 3 or 4 Kyle Bornheimer cancellations ago.
