The cops, especially county sheriff's employees, knew where the prisons were because they frequently had to go to them either to question inmates about cases or transport inmates back to their jurisdictions for court proceedings (appeals especially).
It's a valid criticism, especially considering the prison is apparently relatively close to Rick's jurisdiction. About the only way to justify it would be that because they were moving around so much Rick just didn't realize where they were when they stumbled on prison. |

I used to love this show, but now that people pointed out the prison thing, I can't stop thinking about it. It's consuming my life. I think I'm done with The Walking Dead.

I guess if common sense in a show is bullshit to you but I'd at least like the writers to TRY to act like they respect the viewers somewhat. It's a show about freakin' zombies so I'm not trying to say everything should be realistic but if you are creating a show and present it as possible and realistic then do your best to make things add up. The show is a pile of crap when you get down to brass tacks but it can be enjoyable still. |

I don't know why that's an issue. Im a deputy in Harris county (Houston), and I could tell you where two are off the top of my head, Humble and Huntsville (not counting the county jail downtown). I can almost guarantee that in the event of a zombie apocalypse (if zombie fiction didn't exist, like in TWD) I wouldn't think, "to the prison!" Im sure I world be surprised to stumble on whatever prison we did in Texas.
I vaguely know that there are two prisons within 100 miles of where I live. I have never been to either of them, nor do I know their exact locations. And, Rick, being a cop in a small town, has probably never been to that prison. As such, I wouldn't necessarily think a prison would be a good place to bug out to in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Prisons are big places, filled with bad people, and if you only have less than a dozen people and a finite amount of weapons, the prison probably isn't going to be the first place you run to. It's one thing to stumble upon an abandoned prison; it's another to go there as a destination not knowing what you're going to find. |
Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
I see Rick and Michonne having sexual relations before too long - she's giving Rick the googly-eyes, and Rick is detecting it (as all men do when women give out the "vibe").
I didn't realize a deep stab wound to the chest with a large pirate-sized knife is simply a flesh wound and no big deal. Hmmm... seriously, good thing he's going back to a doctor, because that would likely get infected real fast, and Rick is already half delerious and delusional - a fever from infection on top of his madness will turn him into Morgan. |

Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
But, but, from Carl's viewing angle he should have seen Michonne's toy pony thing in her hands! Why didn't he point it out before Michonne revealed it while they were walking, since she shouldn't have been able to run and hide both items behind her back for so long? I want answers! Did she take lessons from Penn and Teller? Did she hide it around the corner and discretely pick it up so Carl could be properly surprised? Why exactly did she like it? When did she notice it? Will she give it as a present to Andrea?

I demand answers on the toy <s>horse</s> cat! Why hasn't the writers shown Michonne's cat fetish previously?

Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
Does the return of Morgan explain the disappearance of Tyrese?
Do black men cost more or less than they did in 1865? I'm guessing more by this show ... |
Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
Brutal that they didn't pick up the hitchhiker. Is this suppose show how much humanity Rick has lost?

Out of all the possible things to nitpick this is the one that stood out to me. That was a deep stab wound right by his shoulder and he pretty much just shrugged it off. Then I pretty much shrugged it off too. It's a fun tv show.

Would you risk your life and the life of your people to risk being ambushed by the hitchhiker and his buddies hiding? You can rationalize and say that he was obviously alone, but in the day-and-age of Rick and his cohorts, rationalization is a luxury they can barely afford. |

It's not that - it's "kill or be killed" now. And it wasn't only Rick who bypassed the hitchhiker - only Carl looked back, but only out of curiousity, not out of concern.

True but if he had buddies lying in wait, he left them in the dust when he sprinted down the road.
We know there was no ambush because they would have been shot when the got out of the car to get it unstuck from the mud. The hiker represented "if the teeth don't kill you the bullets will" (either the zombies will kill you or other people will kill you - physically or by neglect) |

Judging from the posts here, I expect all of you to reign supreme upon your fiefdoms if the real zombie apocalypse ever arrives.

I was wondering why Morgan was knocked out cold for what seemed hours for getting shot in the torso while wearing body armor. In the pilot, Rick took a bullet to the chest that was stopped by his bullet proof vest and was up and walking seconds later.
