But that then opens up the debate - why in the hell didn't he go before now? Well, because Lennie James wasn't available. :)

There was no need they would have liked a few more weapons, but it was not a necesaty, they were happy sitting in that prison waiting to die, now that have an "emeny" and need to defend them selfs, they need as much as possible

I thought this was a great episode.
Somebody else already said it better but I don't worry about the nitpicky stuff, I just sit back and enjoy the show.

Agree - but if it really was as close and easy to get to (one roadblock that we saw), they easily could have (and should have) gone before now, regardless of the governor. Just my opinion - nothing wrong with having more guns than you need in a zombie apocalypse.

I'm obviously overthinking this, but you'd think in almost any post-apocalyptic there'd come a point where you'd used up pretty much all of the ammo and most of the resources. I suppose you could grow more food, and it'd depend on how many people the apocalypse killed though. But without people around to manufacture new things, you'd think there'd be some things that would eventually just cease to exist.

They deal with that in the comic. They have a guy who can make bullets now. I'm sure this concept will introduced in the show in the 5th or 6th season.
Spoiler:
Also, they are in the south. They have more than their fair share of guns. There are tens of millions of guns in America with many, many more bullets. It would take a really long time to run out if that 7000:1 walker:human ratio is roughly correct. |
Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
I am not even sure you can run out of bullets, especially in the South.

Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
So, in the end, Rick and Company failed in their mission to retrieve additional weapons. As far I as noticed, they left empty handed, and left that large arsenal with the crazy man.

Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
It also seems to me that it wasn't more weapons that they needed (because, really - how many machine-guns can one person carry?); what they needed more of was ammo! Ammo for the weapons they already have, that's what they need to stock-pile.

Re: The Walking Dead - "Clear" -- 03/03/2013
Huh? They took a bunch of guns. Michonne had a duffel bag full and they loaded up the baby carriage with stuff as well. They loaded the trunk of the SUV they were in.

Boy, when I get home tonight, I'm really going to lay into her, for embarrassing me. |

Taking a 4 or 5 hour drive seems a big risk and gas never seems to be a problem. I love the show and this episode overall was very good but it feels like there are many "logical" problems. If you can call them "logical" in a show about a Zombie Apocalypse.

Good news everyone, there's going to be sexy stuff in the next episode. Probably Carol's tits.

I know right?! Also they never show people using the bathroom. You would imagine people still go to the bathroom in a zombie apocalypse, this show is so unrealistic! We need more scenes of people going to bathrooms, people searching lots of abandoned cars trying to find gas, people going through sporting goods stores to find arrows and ammo. We need a whole episode dedicated to gathering supplies, personal hygiene, preparing food, and watching Michonne braid her dreads.

That's not fair. Getting gas is not as easy as you think, once the power is out. They should at least have shown us one time how they obtain gasoline. The rest of your argument is too silly to address.

Every now and again when watching this show I look at Rick or some other character and I think, man they must stink really bad.
Just a weird little thing that crosses my mind from time to time. |

As mentioned though, a place like WM would be overrun with walkers like the prison. Quite possibly even more difficult to clear out than the prison*, leading to the possibility that the shelves are still stocked(food or supplies).
Worth a look at any rate. *then again, 80% of the walkers in any given WM are probably morbidly obese and easy to fend off/get away from. :) Would they technically still be "walkers" if they were driving around in those little hov-a-round carts? |
