Man, some of the cinematography in this series is amazing.

Whoa....it's Todd!

I figured that opening scene might have been some sort of flashback to Jesse as a kid. By the end of that nailbiting heist I had forgotten all about it.

That was easily one of the best episodes this show has ever done.

I wondered what the kid at the beginning had to do with the episode, but in no way did I ever see that coming. Honestly, the heist scene was so intense I sort of forgot about the opening scene, which I imagine was sort of the point. Todd is ruthless...that was such a cold and heartless scene. He seemed sort of harmless before, kissing up to Walt and Jesse, that I didn't expect him to do that. He really took to heart Walt's "no one else can know about this" line. I honestly don't know that Walt wouldn't have done the same thing though, or at least given Mike the go-ahead to take the kid out.

This episode was great even without the final scene hitting me with a ton of bricks. Walt bugging Hank's office, the "interrogation" scene with Lydia, and the heist were all exceptionally well done and compelling. I was literally on the edge of my seat as everyone executed their part in the heist.

 Yeah, it's great how two of the biggest problems they've encountered this season Jesse has solved while Walt and Mike argued.

Jesse has always been a great character, but last season and this season he's really stolen the show. It still amazes me that the original plan was to kill him off in the first season. I love how the meth business has pretty much ruined Walt's life, but it's had the exact opposite on Jesse, turning him into a responsible man with a strong sense of morality. Really fascinating to watch and I can't wait to see how he thinks they should handle Todd killing the kid.

This show tends to have a habit of killing kids. So far, two kids deaths and one close call.

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Dead Freight" -- 8/12/12

I had also forgotten about the kid in the beginning. I was thinking it was mostly meant as a metaphor about catching the spider (Walt) that would at some point make sense. I did, however, hear the train horn right at the end of the scene but still forgot about it. Seeing the kid show up was heart-stopping cause I knew something bad was going to happen. Fantastic episode all the way through!

Dammit Todd!

Yeah, I don't know why people are surprised the show "went here" tonight. I mean, Tomas was killed by the drug dealers (albeit off-screen) and Walt poisoned Brock, so kids have never been off-limits for the show. It was rough to watch, but that was the point.

I see Jesse turning back to drugs after this. If it had been anyone besides a kid maybe not. But a kid? This will eat him alive...

Yeah, right. I highly doubt that. Jesse's gone through this shit too many times before. And it wasn't even his fault this time.

Besides we don't have enough time to see Jesse go through a third fucking depression.

This.

I think the kid had to die, and I feel about it pretty much like Lydia indicated. They signed up for this shit whether they tried to deny it or not.

I really hope not. He's changed so much since he's gotten clean and obviously he's still doing bad things (the meth is ultimately hurting people), but he's trying to be a better person. He's staying in the business now because he enjoys the challenge and likes being good at something, not for the same selfish reasons as Walt.

I hope this is the final straw for him and the meth business and he uses it to start plotting how he can take down Mr. White.

The good Samaritan looked like the janitor that got fired at the high school for weed.

That's not the person he is (yet). He'll try to redeem Mike and Walt. Once that doesn't work, he'll be their undoing. That's what this episode makes me think at least.

Damn that episode completely floored me. That heist was so adrenaline pumping and they get to have that brief moment of celebration before the kid in the opener shows up again and wow frickin' brutal.

I loved the reference by Hank to watching Heat where in it another heist goes awry in a real hurry.

Same here, knew the opening scene had to have some point and since we didn't see him the whole time I knew he would be there at the end. Still, that heist scene was probably the most nervous I've ever felt watching a tv show haha.

Amazing television.

Holy fucking shit!!!!! What an amazing episode I pretty much can't add anything more to the discussion that hasn't already been said. Incredible hour of television. How this show manages to keep on topping itself week after week is just unbelievable.

The heist was just phenomenal and so damn intense. I too had wondered at the beginning of the episode what the cold open was going towards but had kind of forgotten about it by the time the heist happened. You knew right when the kid appeared that it wasn't going to be good for him. Also Walt is such a sleazeball and so good at lying now. Going to Hank with a sob story with no problem at all so that he could plant his phone tap or whatever the hell it was. I have to think that's going to end up being a loose end for Walt eventually unless he somehow manages to get back inside Hank's office and removes it again. I have to think somehow Hank will knock the picture or something and the backing will come off and he'll think back to Walt holding that picture for no real reason. I really can't wait for the ultimate confrontation between those two eventually.

Get over it. It's obviously not ideal but it's a smart move by AMC whether the fans like it or not. I can deal with waiting and looking forward to the best show on for another year.

Well, they keep saying it's just the back-half of this season.

But I mean, between it airing next year, the talk of extending it and the rumor that they'll sell 2 separate DVD/Blu sets I don't see why they don't just call it what it will be: season six.

On top of everything being near perfect in this episode, we got a "Yo" and what I believe was Jessie's first "Bitch" of the season.

Just ran across this poster. Pretty bad ass.

If it's VG and the writers that want the extra episodes than that's awesome. If it's the network looking for them then no thanks. IMO they should just make this season 5 and next summers 8 or 12 episodes season 6. Who cares if s5 is only eight episodes? S1 was short as well.

The last thing I want to see is AMC copy what FX did with the final Season of the Shield. What was originally supposed to be s6a and s6b with a short delay in between turned into FX pushing S6b back two or three times until they just decided to call it s7. In the end most of the fans watched s7 on the internet via French broadcasts a few weeks before they aired here.

BTW, the pacing of this show is among the best I have ever seen. Most of episodes work in very slow-set character pieces but they work in transitions to action scenes almost without effort. Amazing.
