Whoa....it's Todd!
I figured that opening scene might have been some sort of flashback to Jesse as a kid. By the end of that nailbiting heist I had forgotten all about it.

That was easily one of the best episodes this show has ever done.
I wondered what the kid at the beginning had to do with the episode, but in no way did I ever see that coming. Honestly, the heist scene was so intense I sort of forgot about the opening scene, which I imagine was sort of the point. Todd is ruthless...that was such a cold and heartless scene. He seemed sort of harmless before, kissing up to Walt and Jesse, that I didn't expect him to do that. He really took to heart Walt's "no one else can know about this" line. I honestly don't know that Walt wouldn't have done the same thing though, or at least given Mike the go-ahead to take the kid out.
This episode was great even without the final scene hitting me with a ton of bricks. Walt bugging Hank's office, the "interrogation" scene with Lydia, and the heist were all exceptionally well done and compelling. I was literally on the edge of my seat as everyone executed their part in the heist.
Yeah, it's great how two of the biggest problems they've encountered this season Jesse has solved while Walt and Mike argued.
Jesse has always been a great character, but last season and this season he's really stolen the show. It still amazes me that the original plan was to kill him off in the first season. I love how the meth business has pretty much ruined Walt's life, but it's had the exact opposite on Jesse, turning him into a responsible man with a strong sense of morality. Really fascinating to watch and I can't wait to see how he thinks they should handle Todd killing the kid.

I had also forgotten about the kid in the beginning. I was thinking it was mostly meant as a metaphor about catching the spider (Walt) that would at some point make sense. I did, however, hear the train horn right at the end of the scene but still forgot about it. Seeing the kid show up was heart-stopping cause I knew something bad was going to happen. Fantastic episode all the way through!
Dammit Todd!

Yeah, I don't know why people are surprised the show "went here" tonight. I mean, Tomas was killed by the drug dealers (albeit off-screen) and Walt poisoned Brock, so kids have never been off-limits for the show. It was rough to watch, but that was the point.

I highly doubt that. Jesse's gone through this shit too many times before. And it wasn't even his fault this time. Besides we don't have enough time to see Jesse go through a third fucking depression.

I hope this is the final straw for him and the meth business and he uses it to start plotting how he can take down Mr. White.

I really hope not. He's changed so much since he's gotten clean and obviously he's still doing bad things (the meth is ultimately hurting people), but he's trying to be a better person. He's staying in the business now because he enjoys the challenge and likes being good at something, not for the same selfish reasons as Walt.
