Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Shows that have been previously mentioned that I enjoy are Dr. Who, Friday Night Dinner, Luther, Mad Dogs and Moone Boy are all tremendous.

Another irish comedy airing in the UK is Mrs. Brown's Boys. Probably the most screwed up family I've seen on tv in a long time. Always good for laughs.

Baker Boys finished up it's 2nd season but they've only been 3 episodes each so while the story is enjoyable (town bakery closes, workers buy it), it's very slow.

^Just watched a preview of Friday Night Dinner. Will definitely be watching this. Great cast with Simon Bird and Tamsin Greig who I have always liked.

The Friday Night Dinner where Tamsin's mum visits was tremendous.

I may have to throw in the towel on Misfits. This season has been horrible.

On the bright side "The Hour" is back. Pretty good season opener.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

I liked the episode with Rudy 3, but as an overall, it hasn't been up to previous seasons. I'll stick with it.

Him & Her returns tonight
Peep Show returns next Sunday

It must be a law of British television. Shows almost invariably decline in quality as more and more of the original actors leave a show. It's one of the great failings of their short-season system.

Final season of Skins could've been a lot better, but I didn't feel I wasted my time watching it.

Any word on Ashes to Ashes making it over here? I managed to see a few episodes, but didn't keep up with it, but would like to finish it. I'd love fir Amazon or Netflix to carry it.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

The final season of Skins was a slap in the face. They essentially had 3 scripts that could've been direct to DVD movies and just inserted characters from the show. Effie's story made no sense to her character.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Not dramatic, but I am addicted to 8 Out of 10 Cats. But watching this made me fall down a UK panel show hole. It's so strange to see hosts from one show, but panelists on other shows. It's very incestuous.

Also, really love the Sarah Millican Program. She's so endearing, but I love that she doesn't let the fact that she's a sweetheart stop her from having a bit of raunch to her comedic style. I can see this show getting a bit tired after awhile, but so far I'm really grooving on it.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Toast Of London is superb. Insane, but superb.
Also, if you haven't seen it, check out all the seasons of Him & Her. They're currently showing the final season. Cringe-worthy but brilliantly written.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Yeah, really enjoying Him & Her. A real shame that it's the final season.

On the contrary, I was very disappointed with the final episode of Misfits. I enjoyed the rest of the season, but the last episode just fell flat.

I dunno, Misfits ended just fine for me.
Spoiler:
My only complaint was the lack of main character deaths & not bringing in older surviving members.

I just found that
Spoiler:
it didn't really have any conclusion. I was also disappointed in the lack of any of the old cast. Also, the effects were terrible for the flying guy. Seemed like the whole thing could've just been a regular episode in the season, and not a good one, at that.

"Yes I can hear you Clem Fandango!"

Just watched the pilot for this. Matt Berry is hilarious. Love the show.

ETA: A couple episodes in and it just keeps getting better.

I recently started the first season, and I love it.

Too bad I have only seen it via hulu. Hulu is an obnoxious, stuttering bitch.
