Just finished a 2 part series about the Great Train Robbery which was aired in the UK before christmas, pretty good stuff. But loads left untold of course..

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

Just caught up on watching:

Broadchuch: brilliant show. Will there be a 2nd season?

What Remains: Only on episode 2, but it is solid so far. Seeing Frank from Shameless as anything other than Frank is a bit odd.

Mad Dogs: Finale left me a bit confused (therefore underwhelmed), but an explanation from the creator on Twitter confirmed what I was thinking... I just wished they'd spelled it out a bit better so I didn't have to hunt for clarification.

Up next is Escape Artist & Peaky Blinders.

2nd season of Broadchurch I heard will be a prequel of sorts.

My wife and I watched a couple episodes yesterday. I think we both laughed more at this than any other show in recent memory. Glad to hear it's getting a second series.

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/t8xliaDUPwg?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Steven Toast: "Fire the nuclear weapons!"
Clem Fandango: "Steven that was good, but do you think you could give it another try, this time say it in a less alarming way."

I had to fight to keep coffee and mucous from shooting out of every opening in my head.

"Yes, I can hear you, Clem Fandango!"

Almost every character on that show has a hilariously memorable name.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

You mean like "Ray 'Fucking' Purchase"? The scene where they are dubbing the Danish gay porno is fall off the chair funny. Plus Steven finally gets over on the booth boys:

"Yeah, you, you malnourished pimp, with your world war one facial hair and your sister's clothes."
"Steven--"
"You shut the fuck up Clem Fandango and your made up name."

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

So many of the names: Jane Plough (pronounced "Pluff"), Kikini Bamalam, Brooke Hooberman, Sam Mendips, Yvonne Wryly, Hamilton Meathouse, Dinky Frinkbuster, etc.

And yeah, Ray Purchase dubbing the kissing was incredible.

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

I also love the gag that Steven never knows anything about anyone in current pop culture and whenever someone is mentioned he just looks puzzled and says, "Who?"

Re: General UK TV Show chatter.

I've been watching season 2 of The Hour this weekend. Really good so far. I don't think many people know about this one - it's got McNaulty from the Wire. Kind of Mad Men lite with a British political spin.

What Remains was perfect. I can't recall watching a better miniseries in the last few years.

I read that Utopia would have a second season this year (really looking forward to it), but I haven't seen an update that even says when they are filming.

I can't decide who works harder on British TV, Russell Tovey or David Tennant. Those two guys happen to appear on at least 50% of the UK TV I watch.

I just finished binge-watching the last of eight seasons of the brilliant show, Hustle. Phenomenal.

I just watched the fourth episode of the first series and I am in love with this show! I laugh out loud during each episode.

Loved The Inbetweeners and was going to watch this show for ages but never got around to it. Glad I finally did.

As many times as Mark Heap looks fearful of his own dog, I laugh. Really good casting for this show.

Series 3 supposedly airs sometime in January of February.

Its a really great show. I have been watching Matt Berry since Darkplace and just hearing his voice makes me crack up laughing. He was great in the IT crowd.
