Line of Duty

It's an excellent (so far) Police Show. Probably going to be 6 episodes?

4 have aired so far.

Line of Duty is actually 5 episodes. Big fan of Lennie James and will watch it when it gets broadcast on BBC America and then made available on Amazon.

I would watch more UK programming if BBC America was broadcast in HD on Directv. I had to buy Luther seasons 1 and 2 on Amazon Instant Video, because the SD broadcasts were just unwatchable.


A couple of noteworthy shows to mention:

Gillian Anderson is starring in a new series called "The Fall" will air this October in the UK. Might air on BBC America as well. It's a 5 episode series.

There have been a few Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge releases recently in the UK. At the end of June, Alan Partridge: Welcome to the Places of My Life was aired. Then Alan Partridge was on Open Books with Martin Bryce. Last, Mid Morning Matters with Alan Partridge, a broadcasting of 2010's web series, is currently ongoing. All recommended, of course.

Just caught the 1st episode of the action/adventure show Sinbad. So far its off to a pretty decent start.

I just finished Hit & Miss (loved it), moved onto Shameless (only up to season two, might like the US version a bit better so far), and waiting for the next Luther, Dr. Who, & Downton Abbey. I really hope Mad Dogs comes back for a third season, but I have not heard any news on that front.

I'm a bit afraid of the next Being Human season... a cast reboot for a final season seems a bit odd.

I'll keep an eye out for the new shows mentioned.

Anyone catch Fades? Still bummed that didn't get a second season... that was an amazing show.

Really? I wathed a handful of Fades eps and couldn't get into it. I found he pacing slow and the lack of plot, or at least the way it was conveyed, very underwhelming. I never finished it once i heard here was no S2 pickup. It was a neat concept though.

I still need to watch more Ashes to Ashes. I think I only managed to see 3 or 4 from series 1.

Ashes To Ashes was great. And a well-written ending.

I can highly recommend "Top Boy" for those who haven't seen it. Drug dealing/gang three parter set in London.
Been on a Doc Martin kick recently. Watched the first two seasons (and the special) and am now starting season 3. Don't know why I didn't bother before, I'm quite enjoying it.

Friday Night Dinner's second season so far has been just as hilarious as the 1st. This is currently my favorite UK comedy.

Just caught the 1st episode of the new season of Misfits. Dont know about these cast changes.

This season of The Thick of It was brilliant!

I also really loved Moone Boy, but I think you had to be Irish to love it.

That is the major problem with British series. They often will have followup seasons with entirely different casts. Bedlam had a solid first season, then everyone got replaced except one minor character in the next season. The final season of Being Human was a joke, as most of the original cast wasn't involved except Annie.

Although it's not the UK technically since it's an Irish show, I just finished watching Chris O'Dowd's Moone Boy and really really loved it.

Moone Boy's good. Friday Night Dinner is, as previously noted, excellent.
I think the new season of Red Dwarf is great - they've totally captured the 80's/90's vibe of the original run.
Also enjoying Hebburn and season 11 of Shameless (which, although it's not as good as it used to be, is still one of my faves).
Fresh Meat also has its moments. Sometimes brilliant, sometimes not so much.

Agree with a lot of the above. Currently watching, or recently finished:

Shameless series 11 (A shame that it's only got 1 series after this. Also, Frank has been conspicuously absent from a number of episodes this series.)
Misfits series 4 (definitely missing the departed characters)
Fresh Meat series 2
Friday Night Dinner series 2 (Mark Heap is very funny in his small role in this one)

Moone Boy

Twenty-Twelve was a good mockumentary about the 2012 games. Lots of recognizable actors in this, including Olivia Coleman and Hugh Bonneville.

Hit & Miss was excellent. It's really too bad there won't be a second series! Karla Chrome (Riley) has now joined Misfits.

I think I'll check out Copper. Sounds interesting. For those that watched it, opinions?

I'm stoked for Peep Show. One of the most consistently funny shows I've seen.

Him and Her is pretty good and is currently in production for another series.

Gave Wizards vs. Aliens a sampling yesterday; a brand new BBC kid's show from Russell T. Davies.

As you'd expect, it has almost the same feel as The Sarah Jane Adventures minus the Sarah Jane.

...which means: I liked it OK, but it's not going to convert anybody over here. If you only tolerated SJA because of the Who-verse connection, there's nothing to love here, but otherwise it's just what you'd expect (with the addition of magic to the format). The focus is on 2 or 3 suburban school kids battling aliens, saving the world etc, but mostly with magic rather than, say, sonic lipstick and a supercomputer.

Copper is an American production from BBCAmerica. It's okay if you like police procedurals set in 19th-Century New York City. I wouldn't call it revelatory or anything.

The first ep. of Misfits season 4 just isn't working for me but I actually like the change that happened in Strike Back. It actually got better in the second season and they only kill one major character per season so far.

I watched a couple of eps of Mad Dogs on the plane last week, S2 of it, and I just realised the one guy is on the Good Wife, I knew he was super familiar.

Extreme Fishing with Robson Green. I've seen all the eps, and it's fantastic. The dude is hilarious.
