Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
Janelle got popular in season six for several reasons. She was aligned with the more likeable people (Kaysar, Howie, Rachel). Those houseguests were against some delusional "good people" that made the likeable people even more likeable. Then Janelle was the last of her alliance standing after pulling off a number of underdog wins. That made her a star, or at least as a big a star as you can be on Big Brother.
She followed that up with her performance on All-Stars. She aligned with Will, who's always been great TV, and she won a bunch more competitions.
This year she seemed to scheme and lie a lot more than she used to. That might be just my perception, but Dan noticed it too. Personally, I had soured on Janelle b/c of her unnecessary involvement in BB8, and her putting her friends like that slug Porsche into the house.
People can think Mike is running the house all they want, but Dan has been feeding Boogie's ego this entire game. Dan is way too smart to not have an end game for that. The most likely scenario is that neither one of them win b/c their targets are so big.

I've been mostly watching the Olympics and other things without paying much attention to BB yet. Tuned in last night to see what was what so far and was delighted to see Jannelle voted out. I simply cannot stand her, never could.
Boogie was never my favorite, but he was always a good strategist and manipulator (read: player) and makes the game far more interesting because everyone wants him out but they never seem to manage it. I think his reliance on Dr Will is exaggerated by his haters. It looks like he has a little buddy who is in the same category this season (apparently with Boogie's help) as far as mysteriously being unflushable.
Always liked Dan, but wouldn't mind if he didn't shout so much in his interviews. Then again, that moron Joe took it to another level.
Also had to laugh at Brittany's crocodile tears re talking face-to-face with Jannelle. Mostly I remember Brittany for being one of the most vile and disgusting behind-their-back-talkers of all time. Unless she's had some sort of personality replacement surgery I wish bad things for her in this game as well.

I think it's kind of bizarre that people make such an issue about who anyone is rooting for and not rooting for. If you'd like to see Janie go far, you're obsessed with her and if you don't like Mike, you're a hater.
Aren't we supposed to love and hate the people on this show? That's a big part of the history of the show. In Janie's first season, it was all about the viewers loving one group and hating another. Natalie's season was about the villain and the hero (heroes if you count Jeff). Which is why Jokers is pretty relevant in certain ways of looking closely at which way the fans are leaning.
Again, I have no time to watch the feeds this summer and, to be honest, I wouldn't pay for it with this cast if I could and I've seen BBAD a few times and it bored me to death. I'm watching Allison's version this year, so it's more like a soap opera than what's really happening behind the scenes. Not only do I not know what Janelle did to get everyone so pissed off, it's difficult to watch this show and pick her out as the worst of the bunch. I'm a fan of Brittany's to some extent too. I freely admit I think she's very pretty and often funny in the DR, but she seems completely insane this season and so when people are talking about Janie playing in a more devious way and then you see Brittany almost causing Willie to commit suicide with her constant berating of him and the other stuff she does, it just seems difficult to believe she wouldn't be more on the outs than, say, Janie ended up being.
From just being a tv viewer, it did "appear" like more of a catty thing where Brit and Dani just didn't want her overshadowing them. As a viewer in the past and this season, it seems like making a deal with Boogie is more risky by a lot than making a deal with Janie. So, that's my take on what I've seen. I don't love Janie, but I'll probably always like her because of her previous appearances and I tend to like anyone who's strong in challenges and, no, I really don't like Mike Boogie. For more reasons that I have fingers on my hands. But I only hate him in the way that you "hate" any tv villain. Although, if I had to bet on it, I'd say the guy's probably almost as creepy in real life.
I sure do hope Dan has a plan and I'm not counting him out despite the large target. With Frank, Boogie, and Shane, he definitely has some strong people to try and hide behind to possibly work his way towards the end. If things shape up where we have Wil and Joe in the f2, I won't be watching by then anyway.

I'm rooting for Frank and Boogie. I was a big fan of Will and Boogie. Boogie comes of brash sometimes but at least he knows how to articulate his point of view to swings things in his favor and thats what the game it about. On top of that he is loyal to those who are loyal in return.
I could see where people would be turned off by Boogie but thats the kind of guy you partner up with if you are smart.

I need mwbmis to let me know if I'm even remembering this correctly, but wasn't it the all-star season where Jase, Boogie and one or 2 other guys got really mean and were picking on a few people (girls) really badly? I know I remember Jase leading things, but can't quite recall if my memories of Boogie being really in on it as well, but I think so.
To me, there's mean and then there's stuff that is beyond what's even acceptable for "reality" tv. This stuff made Russell from Survivor seem like a nice guy.
The only thing as bad, probably worse, was Evel Dick. Just as I could never like ED, I think that period of genuine cruelty shaped how I feel about Boogie on tv more than anything Chilltown related and why I think he's like that in real life too.
And if that Jase guy ever showed up on tv again, I'd never be able to see past what he did either.

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
This is my first time watching Boogie on BB and, love him or hate him, the guy plays the game big and hard (the mental and social game more than the physical comps) which matches his ego. He's basically comfortable in his own skin (like when he shamelessly threw the HOH comp to Frank, future consequences be damned), is camera-aware (love the bows and self-congrats he took in an empty room after Janelle's nomination) and can articulate his thoughts in soundbyte-ready thoughts without screaming or sounding/looking phony. Mike Boogie is good TV, IMHO, and this coming from someone that's never been a fan of the man.

Just not better for you and why would I care if you're liking the show? You never invite me over to watch it with you.

^^^ My folks live in AZ and I would gladly come over to share a Coke and watch "After Dark" with a man that that lives in a desert yet still loves dolphins... if "BB" aired in November, when I come over to visit my folks' home in Levine.

Isn't she a rotten egg already? What would more egg add to that? Save the effort and go eat at Pita Jungle instead (unless you want to say hi to Natalie in person as you're leaving her a tip).

^^^ No idea where she works (wasn't she at Home Depot before BB) but you have to agree, Pita Jungle would be right for her. God I miss eating there here in NYC!

The only thing she did was take Ollie and his girlfriend off the list of "the worst people Arizona ever put on Big Brother".

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
From this Boogie hater, I definitely loved the way he called out Dani as a nurse. She definitely gave him the signs to figure it out, clear by the fact that Brit was on to her as well, but Boogie knows how to be careful in what you say to the camera and he made the call and could have looked like an idiot, but he was totally right.
I'd forgotten she was nurse, simply because I don't think about most of these people, but I am shocked someone who appears kind of stupid and pathetic can have such an important and noble job.
I know it's highly edited and anything can happen, but Joe is not very good at this game. He could have taken the focus off of him and made Wil a much better looking target for now if Joe had Boogie or Dan's skills. I could have even done it.
Wow, the next scene and Wil does all the work for Joe by being so incredibly stupid to Boogie and Frank. I actually dislike Will more than anyone in the house.

Janie and Porsche before Janelle headed back home to Minnesota. Even their haters have to appreciate women who takes the time to go by and In-n-Out burger before leaving LA.

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread
Danielle did tell Britney (and I'm pretty sure Dan too, not sure about Shane) she was a nurse, they had a long talk about it in the HOH room the week Danielle was HOH. So, by not sharing that little bit of knowledge with Boogie that little convo with Boogie on "BB" last night (along with Ian's secret 'Quack Pack' side alliance Boogie and Frank know nothing about), it shows how the 'Silent Six' is an alliance built on a sand foundation ready to crumble at a moment's notice.

This is from "After Dark" from a couple of nights ago and contains no spoilers.
It's a tale of masturbation courtesy of Britney, and it's a must-watch:
