Joe is the swing vote?
Yes, Joe appears to be the swing vote, though truly, he always goes with whoever's in power, so I think they've got the votes.

I don't think I've ever been as riveted by an episode of Big Brother as I was tonight. That move by Dan and the way he played it out was brilliant. I can't believe it worked so well for him. He deserves to stay this week. Now I'm rooting for him and Frank all the way. Britney had it coming--she had the votes locked up until tonight, the way she made everyone take the blame for her ideas. Great stuff!

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread

Dan was dead to to rights and he managed to get the the two people in the the house who hated him the most to take him off the block and form an alliance with him. And now he has a chance to get rid of the one person who has more allies than anyone, Britney.

That was hysterical! CBS should give this it's own segment. His Joe impression was uncanny.

Since I know what has happened since, I'll tread carefully how I answer this question. The plan at the time was for Frank to kind of clue Joe in to what was about to go down so he would have a head ups, and then threaten/align with him later (Dan told Frank that Joe could be their Jerry...the old man that Dan & Memphis took to the final 3). That didn't really happen before the veto; he just mentioned to Joe to be prepared. Frank also made sure to give Shane a heads up before veto. He didn't know what was going to happen, but he knew something was and that he would be safe.

Joe joined the Headhunters alliance last week (Dan, Brit, Dani, Shane, Joe), and, as of last week, his loyalty was to Shane so he might be pursuaded to do what Shane wants done as well.

Dani's thinking....she's been working Shane for awhile. I think she ultimately knew at some point it might come down to her vs Britney with Shane making the call. Shane has lost some confidence in Britney b/c he thinks she makes him do all the dirty work, and Dani has been really stressing and reaffirming their final 2 for awhile now. In contrast, Brit has drifted away a little as she's gotten closer to Ian. Dani told Frank on Sunday night before the veto ceremony that she thought Shane was 50/50. She's taking a hell of a risk just to save Dan.

However, this doesn't really tell you anything b/c if they figure out Danielle was in on it then all bets are off. Britney might get Shane's vote even without that too.

Man, this game is an intense SOB. I always thought I could do it, but after tonight, I don't think I would have the stomach for it. Ian's face when this was all going down was pitiful, and Britney was truly blindsided. It was an amazing move...Legendary.

I bow to Dan

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread

I've never really liked Dan all that much but this was an epic move on his part. One of the greatest in BB history. I'm always telling people that I watch BB and I get disgusted looks or eyerolls. I really don't think people actually watch this show but condemn it before ever seeing it. That was so entertaining last night.

I don't understand how Frank and Boogie didn't pick up on Ian's clues when he talked about being so evil when he was portraying himself as innocent.

I'll miss Britney. She's one of my favorites.

Here's a deleted scene from last night's episode of Danielle convincing Jenn. I'm still disappointed we didn't get a Danielle DR.

Danielle will do anything Dan tells her to do and Jenn was already convinced to use the veto by Frank. All that conversation did was confirm that Danielle was in on the plan. Jenn wanted to use the veto on someone regardless, because she feels like it's a big move and needs to have something she can say she did in the game if she makes it to the final. Danielle didn't really do anything this week except get manipulated by Dan again and increase her chances of being voted out this week.

Britney is getting a golden edit so far, usually a sign that the person being made to look good is toast. But man, you know CBS loves Dan's move when they start the show with his media reviews (NY Post, EW, etc.).

I disagree. Jenn was scared to death of making that move. IMO, if Danielle hadn't wholeheartedly okayed it then Jenn would never have had the guts to pull the trigger. I would also disagree that Danielle didn't do anything this week. She saved herself, by playing her victim role perfectly. If any of the others had gotten wind that she was in on then she would have been toast.

Danielle is the one person in the house that doesn't really have a target at the moment. As of before the show, the only person who had her even remotely on radar was Frank, and he can't play until the second HOH next week (if he's still here by then).

I thought Britney played a really good game after she realized the Janelle blunder, but I have no idea what she was doing on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Ian was 100% on her side, and while Joe was going to do whatever Shane wanted he preferred Britney to stay. She went fishing Monday night for clues, but after that she pretty much gave up for two days b/c she didn't want to make things uncomfortable for Shane. She could have stayed, but she just didn't try. Britney is going to feel like a real fool (again!)when she finds out Dani was in on it.

Ian really came off bad. Like a petulant child throwing a tantrum when he didn't get his way. I don't understand why he was so angry at Frank. He has given Frank the shiv at every opportunity. As dim as Frank is Ian had to know at some point he was going to wise up and come after him.

Par for the course. In these games people will freely drop knives into people right and left, but when they find a knife stuck into their own back, they turn into little bitches.

Why was Britney so mad at Dan? He got himself taken off the block, but Frank was the one who nominated her. Or do they all know that Dan and Frank are working together?

She calmed down later on and congratulated Dan on his gameplay. While she was personally disappointed, she mentioned several times that he made a good move for himself, and he had every right to do it b/c they, the rest of the Quack Pack, had essentially written him off.

I'm pretty sure the Judas comment on the live show was meant to be a joke. By the end of the week, she was blaming Frank's stupidity and telling Ian that he should try to keep the Quack Pack together and work with Dan.

Meanwhile that was one of the few smart social moves Frank has made. Britney had been gunning for Frank basically since day 1. She was a far bigger threat to him than Dan.

Brittany blaming Frank's stupidity...utterly laughable, and why she might be great at crapping all over people behind their backs but sucks at the game.

True, to a point...we'll see where Frank's social game gets him this week..., but where Britney was laughing at him was in the fact that he took all those punishments, including sitting out a HOH competition, all to secure the veto and then used it anyway. Then she would congratulate Dan.

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread

I guess Brittany missed the part where Dan went to Frank after the competition and not before it. Frank taking the points/punishments meant Dan did not win them, which meant Dan could not veto himself and instead had to go to Frank hat in hand and blow up his entire alliance to save himself. How stupid of Frank to let that happen.

All Frank did was exchange being Boogies b*itch to being Dan's b*itch. He is just the male version of Rachel or Janelle good at physical comps but a complete idiot when it comes to the social or strategic game.

Listen I'm not saying Frank's social game has been good, its been horrid. But the move to get Britney out (which granted was Dan's doing) may be the only smart thing hes done in this game thus far. Hes only really sitting out 1 HOH since he couldnt play in the last one regardless.

No doubt hes going to need to win some veto comps to stay in the game.

No arguments here.

Re: Big Brother 14 season thread

So after checking in last week to find some really entertaining episodes, I watched again tonight and what a total crapfest. From Joe's constant nonsensical yelling and juvenile punishment to 10 minutes of Jesse talking about their food it was painful to watch. Plus Jenn is comically delusional, and that Ian kid is a complete tool. The only one who seems self-aware is Dan.
