Re: Longmire -- "Dogs, Horses and Indians" -- 8/05/12

This was a great episode. I loved how he singled out the one gambler who didn't belong and engaged in a total fakeout.

But I have to wonder how things will play out with Branch. If he wins the election, well, that ends Longmire. If he loses, will he just take a subordinate position? His father will go bonkers.

Yeah, that wasn't too bright really. Didn't he have his gun?

Not sure how the deputy thing will work out--The show's already renewed (which is great), and no way Longmire's going to be the deputy.

Yeah that was a bit ridiculous, both him going in alone and them filing a lawsuit.

Now that was good stuff. I couldn't believe that was Q'Orianka Kilcher playing the disabled Indian girl.

Re: Longmire -- Season Finale -- "Unfinished Business" -- 8/12/12

I've read all the Longmire books (very good if you like mysteries) and I find it interesting that the TV show includes some of the plot elements of the books (this episode's boys and the Cheyenne girl, for example), but the character development of the main characters is kept, at least so far, at the level of the very earliest books. I guess they've got a lot they can use assuming the series moves forward.

Loved the ending. Nice cliffhanger without really being one, finally some real light on "Denver."
Glad it's coming back.

Solid first season. More than most procedurals, this show really feels like a mystery novel come to life. I especially liked how Longmire had to navigate the precarious relationship between the reservation and the white community.

Good first season and one of the more interesting procedurals on TV right now. Sure beats dreck like CSI and all its spin-offs and ripoffs.

Re: Longmire -- "The Worst Kind of Hunter" -- 7/08/12

A bit behind in this series, but was this episode the first time it was mentioned that Moretti had a husband? Seemed out of place to have it dropped in the middle of the season...
