Re: Longmire -- "Dog Soldier" -- 7/01/12

What is the song that played at the end of this episode?

It was a really good song, and I know I've heard it, but can't remember the name or artist. It was at the very end of "Dog Soldier"

Thanks.

Really enjoying this.

I like it when a little-known veteran actor gets a shot at a starring role, and Robert Taylor has done a great job. Love the wry sense of humor he brings to the role. I read an interview with him and was surprised to find out he's Australian.

Can't wait to see the backstory on Walt. I hope we get some backstory on Vic - I have no idea why she's there.

I believe it was Sail by AWOLNation. Excellent choice, and I'm really glad this has been renewed.

What happened in Denver? I like the hints and backstory.

I'm guessing they are saving the Denver story for the finale reveal. I've not read the books but I suspect it involves

Spoiler:
the death of his wife, his confrontation with her killer (putting his badge in the safe and tucking his gun in his waistband are my clues) and the scars on his back. But that's just a guess.

I'm liking it so far
so, did he buy a huge stock pile of polaroid film when they announced the end?

Really like this show. Love the setting, atmosphere, music, etc. Not crazy about it being mostly procedural, those just get boring. But everything else is so good. As far as the main character goes, to me he looks a lot like another Walt...from Breaking Bad. LOOKS, not saying anything else is similar about them.

Just curious. Did you only watch the 1st episode? This is the Pilot thread. We're already on episode 6 and that thread is on this 1st page still.

Seen them all. I hadn't been on this site in a month, was working my way back through some threads and giving initial impressions.

Three times, two in the window one in the chair
see, you weren't listening

glad to see Peter Weller again, I don't think I've seen him since his role on Enterprise

There is alot of stuff on tonight. I'm sure more than half of it isn't going to get watched right away. Who would have thought that Sunday nights in the summer would be so busy?

Longmire -- "8 Seconds" -- 7/15/12

Off to a rockin' start and we're only 25 minutes in. This should be a good one.

Whoa. Did NOT see that ending coming.

Yet another fantastic episode. Longmire is never predictable about the ending, so far. I like how Branch is running against Walt yet he's not a one-dimensional jerk; he's actually an OK guy.
The scenery on this show in HD never fails to amaze either.

Agree. Solid episode last night. The funny thing I read is this show is actually shot in New Mexico instead of Wyoming.

Re: Longmire -- "8 Seconds" -- 7/15/12

Great looking show. AMC on my DirecTV feed is a step above any other channel in PQ for some reason. I did think most of this episode was predictable, was easy to figure things out before they told us on the show.

Well you knew it had to have something to do with the Vet and his family just from the guilty looks his wife was giving during Walt's interview.

Re: Longmire -- "An Incredibly Beautiful Thing" -- 7/22/12

This show is consistently fantastic. The stories are unique, though there sure is a long of murder and mayhem in that small town. The back story is just a little too slow for me, though I did like "Who was the last person you tracked?" Can't believe there are only 2 left, but I'm glad it got renewed.

I agree, there's too much big city weirdness that would be better suited for one of the many L&O series than a small Wyoming town. But if they kept it genuine to the region, it would get boring fast.

I think it's because the Olympics start Friday.

Re: Longmire -- "An Incredibly Beautiful Thing" -- 7/22/12

ok, there is something that bothers me
longmire keeps decocking his 1911
you don't do that unless you want the hammer to slip off your thumb and cause a discharge
that gun is designed to be carried hammer cocked thumb safety on, not hammer down
unless he doesn't keep a round chambered, in which case having a cocked paper weight is going to get him killed

a little bottle water cures poison?
