If you mark off procedurals you must not watch much TV, not that there's anything wrong with that.

That's not true at all. I watch a lot of shows and can only think of two shows that would be considered as procedurals (Alcatraz and Person of Interest, both of which I won't be watching next season). There are loads of shows currently airing that aren't procedurals. My dvr is full of them nearly every week.

I'm guessing not many have gotten to this yet, but it's doing quite well in the ratings.
4.1M viewers and 0.9 from Sundays new episode.

I haven't watched this episode, but for those that have how does it compare to the pilot? Is this show going to be a "crime of the week, but in Wyoming" show or will there be more to it?

This is a weekly procedural, nothing more. I'm sure viewers will get nods to running storylines, but every episode will be focused on a crime of the week that will be solved by the end of each episode.

Didn't really care for this episode. As someone said it was very predictable. There's no underlying story to keep coming back for. It appears the shows are stand-alones with little drama. Definitely a throwback to early TV.

One and done episodes. No serial.
Just like the good old days of GUNSMOKE, HAWAII Five-0 and all those classic series that I love to watch and can watch any episode at any time.

Looks like they are airing these out of order. Episode 2 & 3 were aired in reverse order. Really liking the show a lot so far, will definitely keep up with it.

Sucks to hear they're airing them out of order. Even though a procedural, I typically frown on this. Maybe they wanted Katee Sackhoff's strip tease to air in the 2nd episode to attract more male viewers?

I liked this episode. Tho I'm not a real big fan of Phillips his role isn't bad and he's not over used. I wonder if they're going to bring in a love interest for Longmire to mess things up. That Branch and Longmire's daughter fought all the way to somewhere without her being named could be setting up a reveal later. Just enough to keep one thinking and not hand holding to get you where they are going.

I finally got around to watching this and liked it quite a bit. For some reason the lead reminds me quite a bit of George W. Bush. It's rather fun pretending he is a sheriff.
I thought I had actually missed something, maybe the first episode or a movie. It gave me a vibe of walking in in something half way through. Why is the blonde big city cop there? Why did they arrest the chief of police from the rez. What's up with the daughter. How did theb wife die?
