Re: Game of Thrones -- "A Man Without Honor" -- 5/13/12
There's absolutely no way that's Rickon and Bran Stark. It's obvious, people.
Theon needs to have the respect of the soldiers below him...it's a recurring theme. Hence burning two bodies beyond the point of recognition....so they can't tell it's not Rickon and Bran.
Really confused by the Danerys storyline now. So is that freakish looking warlock (Pree, right?) holding her dragons captive? Obviously her and the three-named guy staged a coup over the Thirteen, but he's telling her where the dragons are...is he just daring her to try to rescue them? He said they should be with their mother, so I almost got the impression that he wants to give them up? Maybe I'm totally reading this wrong. NOT SPECULATION, SPOILER TAG IS OKAY, BUT DON'T GIVE THE STORY AWAY - JUST THE INTENT PLEASE.
I didn't think it was hurt by it...but I definitely noticed the shorter scenes and quicker jumps.
Agreed. It goes back to people talking about how there are no absolute good vs. evil scenarios here. You see Cersei as someone who is evil and fiendish, with this grand plot to put Joffrey on the Iron Throne...and now full of regret, as she'd no idea the monster Joffrey would become. First time that Cersei sparked something in me other than dislike.
Agreed.
Hodor. Hodorhodorhodor. Hodor!
They're NOT.
You can tell by my signature that I'm not spoiling it...it's just that obvious.
I thought that scene was obvious...I even said "You have to die" right along with Jamie.
It needed to be shown how desperate and ruthless Jamie is, and that he'll do anything to try to escape.
Arya and Tywin Lannister are absolutely fantastic together. I was smiling the whole time during that scene. He has a lot of respect for her and geniunely enjoys having her around. I'd watch 52 minutes of those two together, I think.
NO TALK ABOUT SEASON ONE IN THE SEASON TWO EPISODE THREADS!!!!
Kidding...just giving you a hard time.
Bingo.
See, this is going to now confuse me in Book #2, so I have to ask (SPOILER TAGS PLEASE): are Jeyne/Talisa the same person? If not, is Talisa the books? I agree with Pinata here...don't refer to someone as another name. At best, you're confusing us who haven't read the books, and at worst, you're spoiling something.
Hodor.

Comparatively, this one was hurt (in my opinion) by shorter scenes. It seemed to jump a bit more frequently than other episodes. For instance, going back to Jon and Ygritte three or four times seemed unnecessary when it could have all been handled at once.
Still, if that's all I have to complain about, I'll gladly take it.

The King's Landing scenes are generally my favourite, mostly because Peter Dinklage has great chemistry with everyone there, especially Lena Headey. Their scene together was awesome. He was going to hug her when they both realized how awkward things were getting, which I found kinda funny. You know that Cersei is losing her shit when she is confiding in Tyrion of all people.
Agreed.
Hodor. Hodorhodorhodor. Hodor!
You can tell by my signature that I'm not spoiling it...it's just that obvious.I would be willing to bet they are not the Starks. I just can't see them dying without showing it and losing many men to the wolves. I was very shocked by the cousin's death though, I was really beginning to like him. My first thought was, "wouldn't have faking being hurt/sick have worked as well?"

There is no Jeyne in the show. It's Talisa. You need to stop directly comparing this to the source material. Besides, you'd be happier in the other thread.
Also if you think something is ham-fisted or missed the mark, maybe just wait until the next episode or the season is over? This show isn't meant to have stand-alone episodes.

Maybe they bypassed the farm, but have been inadvertently leaving walnut shells like a trial of breadcrumbs for the trackers. The trackers reach the farm, torture those living on the farm thinking they must be abetting Bran, his brother, Osha, and the giant. They kill all of them out of frustration and hatch the plan to burn the two kids there, to later display them at Winterfell?

Then HBO's website shouldn't say it's the Stark boys. The synopsis doesn't leave it up to question - it's stated as fact.
But I still don't believe it is them. I don't think Theon has it in him. I could be wrong.
Also, are we to assume Cat is going to off Jaime?

I'm still thrown by Jamie's shocking revelation that the only woman he's ever been with was Cersie. Here is what appears to be the closest thing Westeros has to a Rock Star and the only person he's ever fucked is his (married) twin sister? That's just so, so wrong. You've got nothing to be ashamed of any more, Jon Snow.

Yeah, especially since she (and Jorah, as well) seemed to be terrified by him.
Is anyone else besides me a Jorah fan? I'm a huge fan of his...I love the character.

I couldn't tell either. Pree or whatever is a hard read, but it almost seemed like he expected Dany to be pleased by the revelation that the dragons were safe in his care, and that she would agree to stay with them. Not sure why he would have that impression though. So he might also just be a creepy fuck.

The actor is just too similar to Tywin, so I guess I should actually not like Tywin because Jorah appears first.

Xaro doesn't appear to want the dragons, so he let Pree take them in exchange for help in becoming king. Pree acts like he doesn't want the dragons either, but it's impossible to tell what his real motivations are. He seems more interested in getting Dany to the House of the Undying for what we can only presume will be a really creepy purpose.

You know nothing, Jon Snow...awesome delivery.
Jamie was in the Kingsguard since he was 17. I'm pretty sure they swore to not take a wife.
And Jamie's KingSlayer explination was perfect.
"you swear an oath to protect the king, you swear to honor your father, you swear to protect the innocent.
What if your father despises the king, what if the king kills the innocent?"

^ Yeah, one of my favorite things about the show is that pretty much everybody has a somewhat logical or acceptable reason for being the way they are. There seems to be very little pure evil, which makes this fantasy show much more realistic.
