Wow, that actually makes it look like it could be an awesome season. I don't remember if previews for previous seasons seemed as good.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season 6 News, Rumors, Castings

Well hopefully s6 can pick up and improve the show but I'm doubtful. The series has been pretty much going downhill since s3 imo. I feel the zombies should play a bigger role and I also think not having a Shane-type character around in the group has really made things less interesting in that regard. We're at the point where the characters are like been there done that and nothing much seems to faze them or give them much threat anymore and we all know which characters won't be dying off due to fandom. Daryl, Rick, Carl, etc.. are here to stay so anything resembling danger to them or the possibility of them dying is waned.

I'm curious as to how the spin-off will fare.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season 6 News, Rumors, Castings

Didn't notice the trailer earlier, lol.

Seems s6 is mostly going to be about Rick taking control and pushing everyone to the breaking point where they end up turning on him and eventually even the rest of the gang even though it seems they start siding with the community at one point, I guess in the end they back Rick as usual. Ricks always been the type to either make everyone follow him or die. There never seems to be a 3rd option. I'm guessing by the end of s6 we'll be seeing the end of this community and the gang packing up again in search of another 'home' because it gets over-ran with zombies or destroyed because of the bickering of the two groups.

Even when he was gardening in the prison? I think you're oversimplifying his character. That group has pretty much always needed him as a leader.

If Dillahunt is playing who we think he is, this is some knock it out of the park casting. My God.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season 6 News, Rumors, Castings

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been tapped to take on
Spoiler:
the iconic role of Negan, the f-bomb-dropping dastardly character from Robert Kirkman's comic series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The character, who sources say will first arrive in the season six finale directed by Greg Nicotero, is the violent leader of a group known as The Saviors who use force and intimidation to subjugate other communities — including Alexandria. Negan first appears in the landmark 100th issue when he crosses paths with Rick Grimes, who had been vocal about bringing down the man who takes half the community's supplies in exchange for "protection" from walkers. By comparison, Negan makes David Morrissey's The Governor look like a fluffy bunny.

Negan — who went through the casting process under the name of "Orin" — has become the primary villain in the comic series since he shockingly killed Glenn with "Lucille," a baseball bat covered in barbed wire that he carries with him at all times. He's still alive as of issue 145. Morgan will first join the series as a guest star before being promoted to series regular for season seven. Morgan was one of multiple actors (including Timothy Olyphant, Matt Dillon and Garret Dillahunt, among others) who were considered at some point for the role. Production on the season six finale begins this week in Atlanta.

Re: The Walking Dead -- Season 6 News, Rumors, Castings

Matt Dillon would have been an interesting choice, but I don't know if he's physically intimidating enough.

And, damn, the entertainment press has really been dropping spoilers, haven't they? Between this and Game of Thrones, they've been letting a lot of stuff fly lately.

What perfect casting in Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I am very excited. Props to thiem for keeping it quiet, as in all the million rumors I read about that casting, he was not mentionned once.

What happened to Dillahunt? Based on what I saw on Extant, I don't think Morgan is a better option at all.

Maybe it was misdirection, or maybe he'll be playing another character. I hope the show has a Dwight.

Not hating on Morgan but man, Dillahunt is easily one, if not the best character actor of the last 10+ years. Personally I think he is on the same level as Phillip Seymour Hoffman and very few actors do evil as consistently as Dillahunt.

It was originally reported that he had been cast, but it appears that he might have just been lobbyinhg for the part on social media and certain entertainment outlets ran with it.

Not sure how I feel about JDM as *****. I have a suspicion that it' going to be difficult to not see The Comedian when he's on screen.

I mostly know JDM as Sam & Dean Winchester's father on Supernatural. =O

I will not be able to forget the total pussy he played on Extant. Should have bailed on that show after the pilot and not have JDM ruined for life.
