and I hated everyone in FTWD
but I like the concept so I'd be down to watch another show

I’m with you TGM. That’s the rub ... the concept is there and there is so much that can be done with it. However, the execution has left a lot to be desired. They need to deliver what they promise. FTWD was supposed to give us the “apocalypse” as it happened. Instead we got a coffe table book version of it.

I honestly think TWD could be a Law and Order type property. Multiple spinoffs over many years, some stick, some don’t, and one becomes better than the original. However I’m afraid AMC isn’t the right place to do that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the series is based on the story of Rick's brother, Jeffrey, who's in Barcelona when the outbreak begins. This was done as a one shot online comic book release by Brian K Vaugh, called Walking Dead: The Alien

Which rapidly morphed into a vastly inferior version of the original show (at the time - now it's a horse apiece).

But I agree that the concept/genre has so much potential that I have to check out the various iterations because most will be garbage, but some might be great.
