So... who's giving this show another chance? There were quite a few people here disappointed with Season One.

I loved the show. I'm looking forward to season 2 with 13 hours instead of just 6.
BTW, the new trailer for season 2 was just released:

^^^ There's nothing there. It's an empty box. Unless it's from Youtube, alot of videos don't embed properly here.
Edit: Ahhh, It's Internet Explorer that has issues with the embeded videos here. Firefox is working.

I thought there were a lot of flaws in Season 1, but I am anxious to start watching the second season before making my final judgement on the show. I think it has the potential to be a really strong series. The fact they got rid of the writing staff shows the producers know the first six episodes weren't perfect and they want to do better.

I liked the first season, and I generally don't like zombie stuff...pilot was great, a lot of the middle episodes were so-so, and I actually enjoyed the finale (though it definitely had its issues). So I'm back in for sure. I just realized I no longer watch a single hour long show on the major networks, just comedies. Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead, Damages, Boardwalk Empire, and Game of Thrones. Ditching DirecTV is going to be even tougher than I thought.

The bad thing about season 1 was that bitch for Prison Break. Everytime I see her bug eyed face I want to punch her.
Other than that, loved the show and looking forward to S2 as well as that new Hell on Wheels show.

The first season had some terrible writing, but since they've replaced all the writers - I'll give Season 2 a shot.

I thought Season One had great production value, direction, and acting. There was so much to like about the show, but the writing was just terrible and nearly ruined it all for me. Had the actors not been as good as they were or had the production value been of a lesser quality, I'd have probably quit watching during the first season and not been back for the second. That said, the fact that the writers were all fired was an extremely positive sign and gave me hope that the show would live up to its full potential.
Seeing that trailer, my enthusiasm for the show is completely restored. Everything about the trailer worked; looks like it will have good action, compelling stories, actual character development, and some sort of forward momentum. Really, that trailer was better than the entire first season (minus the Pilot, which was great) put together. I can honestly say I'm once again excited for the show.

Wow, they fired all the writers? Thats kinda shitty but a turn in an interesting direction. How the fuck did the first writers screw it up anyway? Its based on a comic, just follow that!
And sure the trailer looks great... the trailers looked great for Season 1 too.

All the writers? You guys are making it sound like season 1 had a 10 man writing staff. It was only 6 episodes. They had a very small staff to begin with.
Frank Darabont is still on the show and wrote/co-wrote 3 of the 6 episodes.
Robert Kirkman is still on the show.
Glen Mazzara, who was a freelance writer in season 1, is joining fulltime.
I just did a quick check and only 3 other writers worked on season 1 besides the above 3 guys.

At the same time, half the first season was written by. Darabont and Kirkman, and they'll still be in the mix.

I'm absolutely looking forward to the new season. I think S1 was a little shaky at times because of the fatc that they weren't sure if a S2 was a lock or not. Now that they know the show is a major hit, I hope it hits a stride this season and nails it.

I fear I may look like an asshole by starting to complain about the show before it airs, but something has been bugging me about the trailer I'm surprised no one else has brought up:

I did a little research and I saw an excerpt with Robert Kirkman saying they are trying to get Lennie James to come back for season 2. He said it probably won't happen until the back half of season 2 or later. I really hope they can bring him back. Morgan and Rick formed a bond in the Pilot and I would like to see them reunite.

I didn't think of it as them being able to smell humans so much as them being able to notice when something is walking around that Doesn't smell like a rotting corpse. If they see someone walking around who doesn't smell like a zombie = food.
