Re: New Arrested Development episodes in the works

screw Netflix. I LOVE the show but no way in hell I will get Netflix for it. I'll wait til it comes to real TV or DVD.

Netflix has fallen like an elderly woman on a butter drenched slip n' slide, so why did they make a deal with that piece of crap company?

Re: New Arrested Development episodes in the works

Why the negative on this going exclusive?

This probably won't be the first exclusive show on NF. Isnt there going to be another show there starring Spacey?

Also what's the difference from this being on NF or Showtime or HBO or Hulu?

It was never going to come back to the network tv.

I don't get HBO but when Curb is on I do. It's the same thing with Arrested going on NF.

Now they just need to get the movie locked in since they said they wanted to shoot at the same time

I guess I forgot how great that show was and would be nice if this works out.

Ok, enough of me thinking out loud.
I didn't catch that. Could you speak up?

Re: New Arrested Development episodes in the works

I wonder if the movie is still being done as well or if they scrapped that idea to make a run of new episodes instead. Either way it'll be cool to have some new episodes of the show. Hopefully most of the cast is returning.

Eh, Netflix, Shmetflix. You can find ANY TV show ever brodcast on any network or service for free on the net. You just have to know where to look.

Great news.

Re: New Arrested Development episodes in the works

http://www.ifc.com/fix/2012/01/arres...t-movie-update

The eagerly anticipated return of the Bluth family starts shooting this year.
As an “Arrested Development” fan, it’s hard not to be excited about the plan to create a 10 episode series and then movie to premiere on Netflix. But since it was announced in October, skeptics have been ready to claim that the project will never come to fruition. Not so, says writer Dean Lorey. The series-to-movie addition to the “Arrested Development” series is well and truly happening.

“We’re really doing this thing. Mitch Hurwitz, Jim Vallely and I are off writing the new season of ARRESTED to premiere on Netflix in 2013,” he wrote on his blog. “The original cast is back. There are offices and parking spaces. We’re shooting this year. I wish I could give more specifics but, for the moment, even the schedule is being kept under wraps. But it’s happening and it’s great to be back with my pals from the show.”

So there you have it. This thing is really, really happening. The original series ran for three seasons from 2003 to 2006 on Fox before it was canceled. The current plan is for the series to have a 10 episode return on Netflix followed by a feature film. The 10-episode run will feature on catching the audience up-to-date with what the show’s characters have been up to over the past six years.

If Jason Bateman still has it right, filming should start this summer with the episodes’ release in early 2013. So much for Ron Howard’s implication that the TV series and movie are still a ways off.

“‘Arrested Development’ is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love,” Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement in November.

I do find it pretty awesome that despite everyone's post AD success, they are all on board for this.

Looks like you can have an AD marathon when these hit next summer! All episodes put up at once.

Geez, what an airbrushed picture. Bateman looks like he just stepped off the set of The Hogan Family.

Re: New Arrested Development episodes in the works

Nice news but I'm a little surprised they're putting them all out at once sort of. I figured they'd release them slowly or week by week like a regular show. I guess this will work out too though. I'm stoked either way!

They can release promo pics and say they're shooting but I still won't believe it till I'm actually watching it.

Kinda funny.

In the article, Will Arnett Answers the Call of Duty, Arnett on teaming up with Jason Bateman for two new Call of Duty-themed online series, Arnett does at least say: "People are producing shows all over and we’re going to be doing the 'Arrested Development' series exclusively on Netflix. There are new ways that people want to get entertainment and there are a million ways to serve it to them."

Still, I understand where Goat's coming from.

Well, with the movie nothing was ever officially announced and there certainly weren't any promo pics or press conferences.

Agreed, but given the way the show left the air any tidbit of news was a tease. I'll be satisfied once I know filming has wrapped.

I'm hoping they're saving some kind of announcement for Comic-Con in a couple of weeks.

Re: New Arrested Development episodes in the works

I agree that the project did seem like a tease for a while but this time it's happening. Like mentioned the press conference and today's advertisement wouldn't have happened otherwise. Can't wait to see the new run of shows next year. Hopefully the show can still bring the goods like it did the first go round.
