Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I'll keep bumping this thread...

Loved this past episode, with a callback to "Hawk and Chick", the Japanese film series (a combination of Lone Wolf and Cub and kaiju movies) that Bob and Louise love so much, When Linda tried to imagine what the deleted scene was, she turned it into a version of Ring. And I had to re-watch the entire episode just to find Stephanie Beatriz' one line as Chloe Barbash. You'd never in a million years recognize her as the same person who plays Rosa Diaz on Brooklyn Nine Nine.

ETA: I had no idea this existed, but now I MUST have one framed and hanging in my home:

It was available a few years ago, signed by the voice actors of Hawk and Chick. So no not really.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I thought the beginning of this season was a little under par, but the past 2-3 episodes have been pretty good.

Gene had some good lines in s10e6 -
One percent is what I call my wiener.
I've also got a number two waiting for intermission.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I know I've said it before, but it's the other Wagstaff kids that make Bob's Burger's so enjoyable. Even the ones I didn't like at first (Tammy, for example) have grown on me. And you can never go wrong with Zeke. It's also odd that Jimmy Jr. and Jocelyn are quite obviously voiced by H. Jon Benjamin and John Roberts, aka Bob and Linda.

Jocelyn's voice really annoys me because it's so obviously Linda's voice.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I'm just impressed that HJB alters his voice (a little, at least) for Jimmy Jr. and that school worker. One of the knocks on him as a voice actor is that he doesn't even try to alter his voice for different characters. Hence, Bob Belcher, Sterling Archer, the convenience store clerk in Family Guy, and the can of mixed vegetables all sound exactly the same.

The person who voices Louise also doesn't bother to alter her voice for that Disney cartoon Gravity Falls. It's pretty jarring to hear.

Oh, if you really wanna get creeped out, watch the Season 4 episode of Archer, Sea Tunt. Eugene Mirman (Gene on BB) and Kristen Schaal play boyfriend/girlfriend. Neither alters their voice at all, so it's like Gene and Louise....no, I won't go there.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

Thanksgiving episodes are always winners, and this was no exception

Linda: I know we paid the gas bill, Bob! Remember? The check number ended in "69", and we high-fived.
Tina: Why?
Linda: Nevermind!

Meh, I'm not a fan of episodes when Bob is over the top stupid (yes I realize he does that a lot)

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I also dug the reactions to Bob's extra leaf of gratitude, that he's grateful for his family, which was supposed to be the "awww" sentimental part of the episode.

Louise: Well, that's kind of a given
Tina: You're only supposed to have eight leaves

Really enjoyed the Christmas episode, I just wish they'd kept "The Ottoman Incident" unrevealed. It was better off trying to figure out what the hell it even was.

Best part was the closing credits with Tina singing (trying to sing) The Waitresses' Christmas Wrapping.

Anyone still watching? I loved this past episode with the road trip. Gene fans must have especially loved it.

Theresa: I have something you can take with you. It's a bag of snakes.
Gene: Of course it is.

Still watching. Gene is great.

Did anyone notice a few episodes back, A Fish called Tina the store next door in the opening sequence actually appeared in the episode?
Bob and Linda go to it, Pumpkin Patch Fitness. Has that ever happened before?

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I think there was a Halloween episode where the store next door in the opening factored into the plot.

Was the gym really called "Pumpkin Patch Fitness" though? I seem to remember it being more punny than that. That was a pretty funny bit though. I liked Linda singing while doing leg presses, and adding the line "No one heard that little fart" into her song.

Yeah, the Halloween episode where Bob lets Teddy compete with the neighboring store for who can make the scariest entryway. Those Who Can, dle Candles.

Oh yeah that's right, I remember the Halloween one now.

Yup, it was Pumpkin Patch Fitness. I had to look it up earlier.

Teddy has been upping his game lately too

Unless auto-correct is rearing its ugly head on you, you'll see it's Pumpin' Patch, not Pumpkin Patch, which then makes much more sense as a pun. That's why I was skeptical, as there's no pun in pumpkin patch.

I like Teddy a lot too, but I think he crossed a few lines this week...

Tina: How many kids in this school are named "Sawyer"?
Sawyer: Six. Lost was big the year I was born

Gene: I don't wanna toot my own horn, but....
(Gene farts)

I gotta use that one sometime.

Re: Bob's Burgers (FOX) -- Series Thread

I don't usually like the "3 mini episodes" they do, but this one had some winners, particularly Tina's story involving Boyz 4 Now.

Boyz 4 Now: Hey, it's our number one fan, Tina......something
Linda: Wait, even in your fantasy they don't know your name?
Louise: That checks out.
