Re: Top Chef All Stars

If you're talking about Tiffany, I would agree relative to the chefs on this season, but think she is better than the average TS contestant.

If you're talking about Antonia, obviously I disagree.

I'm looking forward to the final 3..

Blais has been downbeat during the whole thing. I hope he wins, and Isabella is last!

Not too surprising that Tiffany got the boot. I don't really know why, but that guest judge really bugged me.

because she seems like every other shallow, fake, network reality TV personality?

Actually, she's quite the opposite. I would say Mike and Richard fall into that category.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

I'm glad Tiffany finally got the boot. It's really tiresome hearing someone bitch about losing (and she didn't win a single thing this season, except for the last quickfire, where she was paired with Antonia). Also, I can't even count the number of times this season (and last) where she went "i'm not to familiar with (insert something normal people don't cook at home)".

Re: Top Chef All Stars

Really? I didn't think she bitched at all, she just seemed sad that it finally happened.

Mike and Richard sure acted like babies for losing the quickfire though.

oops, I was talking about the guest judge, should've made that clearer. I always liked Tiffany and liked that instead of making excuses she just admitted that she was out cooked.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

No surprise that Tiffany finally got voted off. She's been punching out of her weight class for the last few episodes and should not be in the Finals over the likes of someone like Angelo or Dale.

I think the judging is terribly flawed. A great cook goes home with one bad dish, but a mediocre one gets farther with just average food. They really need to consider past performance.

I agree with your disagreement. The competition becomes moot if you consider past performances. Should the Patriots have been given the super bowl trophy in 2008 because they were 18-0 up to that point? They got beat and were sent home.

Re: Top Chef All Stars

Padma looked awkward walking in her bikini. After that outfit appearance being hyped up so much in previews for so long, I was really disappointed.

They got there on that past 18-0 performance. Of course the final is "do or die", but I don't think every challenge should be. Should every NFL team that loses a game end their season right then and there?

Well in that case...what could possibly go wrong? See Season 4.

Think NCAA Tournament. It isn't a bracket format but we're in the playoffs, essentially. Every "game" is do or die. Just like sports playoffs.

And it probably didn't help Top Chef's diversity image that they eliminated a Hispanic, then an Asian, then a mixed-race black woman, then another black woman to leave 3 white contestants remaining.

On a related tangent did anyone else find it a bit uncomfortable that the elimination challenge was to cater to a bunch of rich, white off-islanders and that all of the servers were black? I'm surprised the "Commodore" allowed Padma to sit at the same table.

....then there's no point in having a competition. After they stop giving immunity, chefs who are behind should just go home, because they won't have a chance of winning, because they'd be automatically eliminated despite making an average dish in comparison to a bad one.

Anyone notice Richard had Rooster sauce on the quickfire?

Re: Top Chef All Stars

Did the preview for next week give away the winner?

Spoiler:
It clearly had Padma turn to Richard and announce him as the winner
