I would really like to know at what point Moffat decided to turn this show into a sitcom.

This felt like a bad episode of Psych. Why would Sherlock ever care about Women who were sleeping with a guy that was "dead"? Luckily it had something to do with Watson's Wedding. PHEW!

I was really waiting for Shawn and Gus to pop up at some point.
Good murder idea, sure. But the overall episode was just all over the place. Coming off a strong episode from last week to this?
I hope next week's is better because I'm sure it'll be another year before we get another Season.

And Sherlock has broken its sophomore slump streak, what a knockout episode. Hilariously funny, Cumberbatch and Freeman continue to be a perfect pair, their friendship was genuinely touching, Sherlock was actually given some character development and humanity, and LMAO at the Irene cameo. "Woman, I'm working!" Was hoping Holmes might finally get lucky at the end
, sad that he's such a loner
. Still wonder who the mystery man who was orchestrating Watson's Clive Barker death in the last episode was, Sebastian Moran, maybe? God, this is great stuff. And the sign of three reference was a nice in-joke for longtime Holmes fans plus a great payoff for the end of the episode. Drunk Holmes and Watson and the scrambled text were hilarious. Here's to the Greatest Detective Who Never Lived, may he live forever.

I loved the second episode. The murder was interesting, if not a little too neat how it tied together, but the character stuff really worked for me. I think it's commendable how well Mary has been folded into the show, and I like that she, Mrs. Hudson, and Lestrade are being shown to be a pretty supportive and loving group to our heroes.

Kind of a weird episode. It was hard to see where it was all going, which I guess is a good thing. Not sure how I feel about what Sherlock did--seems a bit out of character. But he did it for John and Mary, which justifies it somewhat.
Throughout these three episodes, I've been waiting for a certain thing to happen, and it did happen in the last couple of minutes of this one. Can't wait for the next season!

These type of cliffhangers don't bother me as much. Now the season two cliffhanger are the type I don't like for a number of reasons. As long as the current story is tired up and it's just an opening for a new story it's not too bad.

That wasn't a cliffhanger. It was just a preview for the next season.
A cliffhanger would have been if they ended it a few minutes earlier and left you wondering how Holmes/Watson were going to get themselves out of that mess. But instead everything is cleared up, everyone is happy, and they're off to another adventure. How is that a cliffhanger?

I don't think cliffhangers require imminent danger. The term may have originated with Captain America dangling over a cliff in serial movies but that is only a type of cliffhanger. Many soap operas end on a emotional entanglement where no one is in danger. The only real requirement is did the show leave a situation that the audience wants to see resolved. Unless you think no one wants to see the latest situation resolved and that the show can cleanly end here I don't see how you can say that isn't a cliffhanger. It is fine if you feel that way of coarse but I'll respectfully disagree.
