That was my exact thought when I saw that picture.

Re: Bryan Fuller and NBC to reboot/remake The Munsters

Why do I have funky feeling now that this could be a reverse of the original Munsters. Especially given one of the photos where Herman and Lily seem to be comforting Eddie. That would be a hell of a twist and in line with Bryan Fuller's mindset. It would also make Marilyn a lot more interesting.

For those who need it spelled out: Munsters are humans, everyone else is a creature of some sort.

Re: Bryan Fuller and NBC to reboot/remake The Munsters

I'm guessing they're not "stick out" monsters in this one, as in maybe they shift into something else (except for Herman who seems to be more in line with the monster from the original novel).

I'm still sad we're not getting this though:

I've always liked Jerry O'Connell so I'll watch at least one episode

Do young people know what The Munsters are? I mean I'm only familiar with them because they were on TVLand like five years ago and I don't think I ever watched a complete episode. Addams Family on the other hand has a following two movies, a Broadway play, a video game.

I think this looks really interesting. I especially like what I've seen of Grandpa, and what how they've handled Herman. I personally happy they didn't paint him green and put bolts in his neck. Looks like the make up they used is much more subtle and, IMO, creepy.

I'll definitely watch.

Yeah, that really doesn't look horrible.

Kind of an interesting direction they're going... looks like Desperate Housewives crossed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I read they were considering a Modern Family approach where they'd talk to the camera...that could have been an interesting take on the "cameras are magically everywhere filming us" genre.

Oh I agree, there's zero chance I'm watching this now. It looks atrocious.

I can't really tell much from that video, and I'm pretty surprised some of you love it and some hate it.

I figured if they were rebooting an existing series it would already be planned for a full season

This looks like just a one shot Halloween special now. Reports are that NBC has decided to not go foward with the series. Since Bryan Fuller is also working on NBC's Hannibal series, I'm going to assume they are airing this just to avoid any friction when that series goes to air.

I keep hearing that depending on the ratings will determine if there is a series or not. So if it bombs, one can expect nothing else from it. If ratings actually turn up, then they will make a series.

On a random Friday? Yeah, no way this thing makes ratings.
